I have a Poulan Pro PP-4218, It was not running well once warmed up. This kit was fairly easy to install, but not perfect. As noted in some reviews, the link for the secondary air intake hits the cover. Most have cut a slot in the cover. Not wanting to interfere with designed airflow, I instead bent the end of the linkage downward to clear. Be sure to back out the idle screw so the linkage goes to max extension, and then bend down sharply with two needle nose pliers. Check that the linkage still moves freely. The air filter did not fit, but was slightly oversized, so not hard to trim to size. It was about 2-3mm oversize. Better than undersize. The plug gap as delivered was small, about 0.015". I adjusted to 0.025" per Poulan specs. The carb mixture screws were not set well to begin with. The low end was about 3 turns open, which is a good starting point. The high end was only 1 turn open, which was too lean. I opened the high end, then started right up. After warming up I adjusted first the low for a good smooth idle, then the high I turned in until it cleared out, but not peak RPM. I tested on a few logs and it cut great without stalling. If you do not have a tach for setting the high mixture, keep it rich. With no load on it, only turn it in enough to transition to a 2-stroke rhythm.

Poulan Pro PP4218A 42cc chainsaw. Product bolted right up to the saw, provided fuel lines and filter are equivalent quality to the OEM ones removed that weren't in bad shape but why not right? The provided 1 of 2 air filters fit the saw without trimming needed, my guess is this kit is universal to another machine. The provided bulb is still in the box as mine was not needed for replacing, it does look and feel of good quality though. I did not have to modify, trim, cut, or otherwise bend anything anywhere in order to mate this carburetor to the saw, saw started right up after installation, im not sure what drugs all the other people with reviews are taking but I had absolutely no struggle with this.

Bought this fora chainsaw I was working on as turned out the the wrong one won’t fit the saw but it was pretty cheap so I kept it’s reordered the correct one but for what it cost the gaskets,fuel hoses and filters it was worth it and cheap enough I’m sure I’ll windup using on something else if not the fuel hoses or filters. This carb seems well built I’ll update this when I install it on sometime else.

Carb did the trick and required little adjustment once it was installed. Quality is great and functions as it should, even after a few months of use.

Put this on it works. Had to do a slight adjustment runs like new and starts on second pull.

I have a PR4218 and this just can't fit. My strato throttle blade is separate and not mounted to the walbro carb. I pulled the carb from the strato blade and filed out the throttle linkage. I also had to swap the strato portion over and the strato linkage. What should have been a 10 minute job was a 90 minute job and it didn't run any better so super frustrating. Doesn't fit on the black Poulan Pro PR4218.

It is a given that these replacements, even the HIPAs, have to have the throttle arm trimmed to avoid scraping the top shroud . Given that, this was a nice inexpensive replacement for my broken carb. The fuel lines fit correctly. Had to trim the filter a bit but easy to do.

I have a Polan chainsaw that was not properly stored away after its first use. Even after taking the carburetor apart for a cleaning, I could not get the chainsaw started again. This replacement carburetor was perfect for my chainsaw. I received it quickly after ordering, and it was a perfect fit. It was even better than the original because of one design flaw. After a few adjustments, the saw runs like a champ. I was surprised at the affordable price. I highly recommended it.
