Pro-Ject Clamp It Record Clamp (Silver)

The media could not be loaded. Upgraded to the acrylic platter and needed a clamp. A weight didn't cut it. This functions nicely. It clamps to the spindle and keeps the record stationary against the platter. It seems well built. While a bit pricey, it has some nice detailing. Watching it spin is quite hypnotic.

You could pay more for one, but this one functions great! It’s also a good look on the table! The weight is good also!

This is more of a stabilizer than a clamp. It doesn't screw down, but rather you press firmly to the record and twist the knob to hold it in place. A true clamp would have a threaded screw-down system and a small washer under the record to cup/force the disk down flat on the platter...not what this ClampIT does... However, this little stabilizer works well. When used with the LeatherIT mat, it really tightens up the bass and brings the HF into sharp focus. A must for users of the Pro-Ject Classic EVO turntable package. Should use with the Leather IT platter mat as well.

I happily enjoyed this product for a few years. But after the warranty expired the clamping mechanism broke, rendering the Clamp It useless. I contacted Pro-Ject customer service and they said that fixing it would cost more than it was worth and so nothing could be done. I pleaded a little more and they said no dice. First off for $100 I'd expect a higher quality item and secondly I'd expect Pro-Ject to see the value of repairing or replacing broken equipment for a discount rather than saying nothing can be done. I hoped for a more sustainable business model that values the customer experience, but in the end I'm disappointed in a company that I have long supported. I will not buy another Clamp It and will no long look to Pro-Ject for turntables and accessories in the future.

Exceptionally well made, providing the effect of a weight without loading the motor and bearings.Very pretty too. A bit pricey, but worth it. I would say it is essential.

A really nice-looking clamp but does need a little maintenance before it works properly!!! For one thing when I first got it the tightening clamp was too small and did not fit onto the turntable had to take a pair of needle-nose pliers and wide in it then works fine but still I could not tighten it without really putting Force into it so then I threw a little turntable oil on to the outer screw and the inner clamp now it works perfectly is it overpriced probably but looks nice does a great job so for me it's a keeper😀

Is it pretty? Yep. Is it hypnotic when it goes round and round ? Huh...? What chicken ? Does it flatten warped records ? No, at least not mine. Does it improve sonics ? Yes it does, I'm hearing things on LPs I've heard a thousand times and never noticed before...really cool when that happens and I tilt my head like a dog ( I must tell that I have the Pro-Ject Esprit SB w/acrylic platter so it's a match for my TT ). Is it worth $99 ? No. My guess is that it costs about $2 to manufacture. Am I glad I bought it ? Yes but I wish it was more reasonably priced. Will I sleep with it under my pillow tonight like a fresh deck of Tarot cards so it picks up my essence ? Of course I will.

Works very well. I do. Price a slight sound quality improvement when using it but the real advantage is if you have some records that are warped. Being able to apply and hold downward pressure on them while playing can reduce the warpage.

As soon as this was delivered, I ripped the box open and went to clamp my Depeche Mode album, and the thing wouldn't fit - as per my first picture.This was a birthday present from my wife and daughters, so I went to tell her it didn't fit the Pro-Ject turntable that it was made for and said, "Look, I'll show you". She came to look, and the thing slid on perfectly. I am unsure if magic was involved, but I am happy with it overall, and it does Clamp It!It does look the part, and it does what it says on the tin. It is quality workmanship but does seem a little high-end in terms of the price.
