This 4th edition of Patients Beyond Borders is not a good book for advice on dental implants as of right now. In the United States about half of dental offices that do dental implants will ask you to come in for a $500 special where you go and get just the post put in. This is the only way to go If you are having dental implants installed and you are over 40 years old and live in the United States. It may take 1 year of constant visits because if you're having tooth #4 upper right redone then they have to make an impression of all of your teeth and then send those impressions to the lab and when the crown on top of the abutment and the post doesn't fit exactly right then they have to keep sending the impression of all your teeth back to the lab where the lab will will then reshape the crown. As of 2021 in the United States a lot of places that specialize in implant dentistry will have a $500 special where they ask you to come in and have just the post done but then pay for the rest at a later time. It is practically impossible for a group of doctors to just look at your face and then tell you exactly how much 2 or 3 dental implants are going to cost. Every time they put in 1 dental implant in your upper right mouth such as #3 or #4 they have to make an impression of all of your teeth and your mouth and then send it to the lab and be sure that everything fits exactly right. As of 2021 It may be best to have procedures such as dental implants done only in the United States. Keep in mind that in Mexico dental implants with abutment and crown cost at least $1500. I'm not saying don't buy this book. If you want to buy this book then buy this book but if you you only need 1 dental implant and that's all and it costs $3000 or less then you might want to research options available in the U.S.

I liked the fact it forces you to do your own vetting of health options instead of relying on what you find online.There wasn't much to dislike. The checklists were tiny and could have been more useful with an option to download from the site.
