The 6800 Series pumps were made for high flow reverse osmosis membranes up to 50 GPD. These pumps are capable of continuous duty and are effective for recirculation based applications as well. They are ideally suited to work with hydro pneumatic storage systems but are compatible with most hydraulic shut-off valves also. These pumps are commonly used with one or more of our flow control components including: pressure switches (PSW Series), tank level controllers (TLC Series) or electronic sut-off valves (ESO Series).Applications: Water Treatment/RO Carbonation Systems Misting Systems Alternative Energy/Solar Medical Lab water Laser Cooling Systems Fuel CellsTechnical Specifications: POWER: Safe operation with low energy (24 Watts), low voltage (24V) motors. Can be used with compatible transformers (100VAC, 120VAC, 230VAC), to be ordered separately. ENVELOPE DIMENSIONS: Approximately 3" x 4" x 7", 6 lbs. MOUNTING: Patented "flex-mount" baseplate significantly dampens vibration and reduces notice. Pump performance may be affected by location and position. CONTROL OPTIONS: Internal Bypass (20-200 psi)

pump performance
I got this pump as a spare for my RO unit. Not long after acquiring this pump the pump already in the unit failed. The motor simply stopped turning. ( Usually these pumps don't fail that way. The motor still turns, but they lose their ability to pump water. ) Around the same time, I changed the sediment pre-filter and membrane and pressure switch. After fitting the new pump, further investigation showed that solenoid shut-off valve was not closing properly as had a fair amount of crud in it. So did a lot the 1/4" plastic tubing used in the unit did as well, so I cleaned that out too. The solenoid valve and tubes had never been cleaned in the 19 years I've had the RO unit..Anyway, the new pump pumps fairly well, but does not generate enough pressure to make the pressure switch shut off; the pump just keeps running, so I just control the motor manually, allowing it to run 2-3 hours a day. Possibly, the new pressure switch is defective and I should try putting the old one back in to see if the pump will generate enough pressure to turn it off.

Perfect use for my chameleon misting.
Purchased for my chameleon cage to provide timer automated water misting throughout the day. I owned one of these in the same model previous to this and it lasted about 2 years before it stopped working. They are expensive but very much worth it with proper tubing to get the job done I need it to. It does move a lot side to side when it is on and is attached via screws to the plastic thick lid of my bucket where it will pull the water from. But I suppose that is the power it needs to suck up the water. Many people don't know how to remove the tubing from these one they are in. The key is to push JUST the grey circle around the tubing inward and then you can pull out the tube. Took me a while to figure that out.If your run out of water while it is on and it's running dry, you'll need to prime the inside of it with water again (no tube), then reinsert the tube once you get it to flow. Here are the steps to prime: 1) remove outlet tube as described above. 2) Ensure inlet tube is submerged in water completely 3) Turn pump on 4) Wait until water flows out of the outlet 5) Turn off 6) Reattached outlet tubing.

Be carefull of the warranty
Check the manufacture date on the label if you get one of these. The warranty starts when it is made, not when you purchase it.I purchased one of these in January of 2012. I didn't notice that the date of manufacture printed on the label was 08/26/2010. When the pump failed last month, waterfiltersonline referred me to Aquatec, the manafacturer. Aquatec told me that it is out of warranty, and won't help me.I'm still waiting to see if waterfiltersonline is going to help.
