Does this device work? yes...just not very well. I'm not returning it, it does what it says it does, just not very well. The light output is dim, best that the whole room is dark or if used outside that there are not porch or street lights close by. Housing is plastic and so is the lens of the device. Remote works but you have to press buttons several times in order for the changes to take place. I wanted to put this up on the house wall and project sort of a winter landscape on to the yard, nope. It covers a spot well of about 8 feet by 8 feet, but not more than that, the light fades until you see nothing the further you move it away from the area you are trying to use it on.

I love the star feature on this color projector. I wish it was brighter. If there is a little light anywhere, it is very difficult yo see. Have used it at a campsite with good results.

I really wanted one that had white or gold stars but I couldn't find one.

We bought this to use in our backyard to project the lights onto a fence. The unit was not strong enough to project any light from a distance more than 3 feet. A regular flash light has more power than this unit. The remote worked as it was designed to, however, we sent it back as it was a total waste of money.
