Very Strong Initial Smell But Lasted 5 Years
I have this mat on a desk in a cubicle farm. My neighbors from two and three cubicles over could smell the mat when it was new. The smell has faded some, but sitting at the desk it is still quite pungent. The smell is so strong that had to limit the review to two stars. Otherwise, the mat is exactly what I was looking for. Nice, big size with good cushioning. I see no deterioration on the edges. 5 year update: I don't use this as my mouse pad. Instead I used it to cushion my arms on the desktop. I'm a software developer and work from home. I'm at my desk at least 12 hours a day. The padding of my arms very works well. An issue has come up recently where the rubber bottom along the edge stitching has started to deteriorate. You might think this is a negative that would cause my rating to go down (from the original two stars) but I'm going to up my rating to five stars. Given the number of hours I've put on this pad I think it is well worth it. I've gone through at least one keyboard in the time I've had this pad, so that says something. The top of the pad is in excellent condition. Zero issues there. The initial odor did take a while to dissipate. I'm going to buy another one ahead of time and let it sit out for a while so the odor goes away before I put it to use.

Can’t do any better
A couple of years ago when I got a new desk the edge was a little painful on my wrists. As someone who spends a large amount of time a week in front of a computer this was unacceptable. I decided to get a nice thick mat to cushion my wrists from the edge. I had been lucky enough at the time to have access to pretty much every major brand of mat so I knew what was out there. I was unhappy with nearly every one of them and was struggling to find what exactly I was looking for. Then a friend had gotten one of these and I instantly fell in love. First off there is no branding or graphics on the mat. I know that some people enjoy that stuff but I am a professional adult, I don’t need random garbage on my desk. Second it is nice and thick without feeling spongy. I know this is a subjective issue but I like to have some thickness for a mat like this. Personally I use a hard mouse pad on top of it so it is the perfect solution for both. Third is the quality of the materials and especially the stitching is top notch. I can tell you that much more expensive options from bigger manufacturers are no where near as well made as this. Cleaning the mat is a snap as well. I just ran it under some hot water with dish soap and it got rid of most of the funk that accumulated on it. Hang it on a shower rod or lay it in a sunny window for a bit and it is like new again. I recently bought a replacement mat after about 6 years of use on the old one. Mostly because I melted some of the rubber on the underside from putting a hot bowl of soup on top (don’t do this kids), but it still worked and looked fine. You can’t do any better for this type of product. I have had multiple friends end up buying these after using mine all of whom have had no issue either after years.

Great mouse pad!!
Update: Was 5*, now 4.5*. I have had this for about six months now, using very frequently. It's held up almost perfectly. I dropped pasta with white cream sauce on it and while it wouldn't wipe off completely, I did run it through the washing machine on cold water with the rest of my laundry and it came out like new. It was the only time I ever laundered it and it's stayed very clean. A couple of months before the pasta incident and subsequent laundering, the stitching on the edge is fraying a bit in one spot, which is weird, because it is the side of the pad that is away from my wrists. It wasn't there when I bought the mouse pad. I have no pets so I cannot see why this would happen. I haven't had any issues since with any other fraying, but since it's been considerably less than a year, it no longer deserves the five stars. I was going to buy a second one but I think I'm going to wait and see if this one holds up. I really like that there's no visible logo. It's plain black. ****** Great mouse pad. Fits my desk perfectly. Offers tons of room for my mouse to move without having to pick it up. Easy to write on a sheet of paper while laying on the mouse pad. Easy to clean. Quality stitch on the edge. Would definitely buy again.

Amazing HUGE Mousepad
I've been using this mousepad for a few months now. The reasons I purchased this particular mouse pad was because it had no ugly designs or logos on it and that it was huge. I absolutely hate mousepads with unnecessary branding and logos. All I want for a mousepad is to be a simple surface for my mouse (and keyboard with this giant pad) without looking like a race car. This vipamz one does an excellent job at being minimal with no logos and having a quality design. When you first get the pad it comes rolled up in a tube. I did not have any problems with curling or fraying with it. The surface texture feels nice to the touch, however it is a little hard to clean off dust. The stitching of the edges also looks good and provides a good "border" feel if you try to move your mouse outside the pad. Size wise the thing is a monster. Make sure your desk can actually fit it because it is 36" by 12". Pros: - Cheap - No branding or logos - Quality Materials Cons: - A little hard to dust some smaller particles off the surface, however its not that big of a deal to dock a star off for it Overall this pad is amazing for price, especially because it has no branding or logos on it and the quality of the pad. You really can't go wrong purchasing this pad for your computer.

Worth the Price
to;dr - I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good, affordable large mouse/desk pad. The product itself is as advertised, and I love it. The stitching around the edges looks very well done without a single loose thread, which is something I've had a problem with before (not with this seller). The surface is a combination of both smooth and coarse, like super high grit sandpaper. I won't be loosing control of my mouse on this. Personally, I'm a fan. I prefer rough pads or smooth ones any day of the week, but this one strikes a good balance between the two. Oh, and its big. I fit my 2 phones, my full size gaming keyboard, and my Xbox controller on it, and I still had space left over to use as an oversized mousepad. Since it's not really fair to just talk about the things I liked, I'll add some cons here for the people that look for those like I do. None of these affect my rating, since they aren't things that I was expecting to have. Just compared to my ideal pad. It's a little more on the thin side than I'd like. It's very firm with a tiny bit of squish. I'd prefer a little more squish. The bottom isn't super gripy. It won't move just from use, but if you try to slide your heavy keyboard up on it to make room for something it'll most likely take the whole thing with it. That's all I've got, I had to really stretch to come up with those cons.

Great!
EDIT 10/4/2016 So have been using this mousepad for a while without any issues except for a few frays in the stitching on the sides. I recently purchased a Corsair Gaming MM300 Anti-Fray Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad,...

Immortal desk mat. SERIOUSLY does the job well. :D
Soon after purchase: Shipping was great, it was rolled up in a tube, when laid out flat it was smooth with no creases. The hem on the edges is flawless.About as easy to stain as any other mouse pad, but this is one washable and smooth feeling. Gliding is beautiful with my logitech G600. UPDATE: Over a year of competative CSGO, KF2, TF2, and eating all sorts of food and spilling things on it later, this desk mat has proven GODLIKE. the usual ''gamer gunk'' and ''random ramen stains'' come right out with a quick wipe down with a wet washcloth, makes it look feel and function like new. Anything worse than that, I have no doubt will come out with a wash in the clothes washer, which I've done and it came back out like new from the tube it came in. I believe this desk mat to be impervious. Whenever I do choose to take out pen and paper instead of typing up my notes, the mat is firm but not too solid underneath the paper, letting a good ball point pen (not the trash you get at office depot) and any felt-tip pens glide just as smooth over the paper as my mouse does on the mat. Its just enough cushion to stay comfortable under your hand, without feeling like you're writing on a pillow. Buy it.

Dont buy the white, its a silverish color.
Got the white version. Let me just say it was to match my setup. Unfortunately, the mousepad was more of a silver rather than white. I had purchased white because I had researched that it is better for optical mouses. This silverish color is most likely to blame as it has some studder, while it isnt to bad it is noticeable, and gets annoying. It works fine on my white desk but not on the mousepad. Shoud have gone with black ... oh, well. And returning it is a waste, half only for return? Might as well keep it and buy a better one later. I use a corsair katar if you wanted to know. Its a good product, just not for me.
