4 ft. Short Double Cross Shoji Screen - Black - 4 Panels

I just redecorated a rarely used room, which happens to be where we need to keep such things as our kitty's litterbox. He is not a fan of having the box inside of a planter or table, but no one can deny a litterbox out in the open is not conducive to a welcoming area to visit or sit! This screen was perfect--it separates off the area without making him feel enclosed, can be moved easily for cleaning around the box, and all I had to do was open the package--no assembly required! I love it!

I work from home, and my computer desk is in my living room, so I purchased this to get a little separation with the living area, and I bought this to try it.First of all, it's a good height so it feels like the computer equipment, desk, etc., is all behind it so you don't see it, but it's still part of the room. It's nice and clean looking, so it doesn't distract, if not add to the room. It's nice enough where I'm thinking of doing the same thing in a different part of the room.

White paint not applied evenly or thick enough. Shoddy construction.This is a waste of wood/paint/paper. Hardware and functionality is fine but for $130 I expected it would be fully painted. I turned it around so that the wood was behind the paper hoping that it would not be so obvious that especially the thin pieces were not adequately painted but the yellow of the wood shows through the paper and I’m going to have to send this back

Don't pay attention to the criticsl reviews. They obviously don't know what they ordered. These are perfect to conceal insightly corners in small spaces. YES, they ARE real wood, and well-finished. They seem much more expensive than they are. Yes, they are MEANT to be lightweight to be portable. They're not supposed to be brick and mortar against dogs and kids. If Amazon allows I'll post before and after pix so you can see the difference in covering a corner of my tiny kitchen where the dog's stuff is kept. By the way, don't make my mistake. Remember to get a divider that is a foot higher than what you're concealing. I forgot that from a distance you'll be able to see over them unless they are a foot taller. I originally got the 3-foot size but learned my error and got these. I can use the others elsewhere but these are perfect. I got the Rosewood 4-panel version and it looks surprisingly upscale. Highly recommended.

The screen is attractive, and what I expected. Using it to cover my desk/office area. The only disappointment is that one of the panels is not pulled tightly and so there is a wave/wrinkle in it. (upper right) Not important enough for me to go to the trouble of re-packaging, returning, and waiting for another one to become available.

While the materials used to construct this screen are fine, one of the panels had a couple of warped cross bars, and on another the fabric was not pulled properly leaving a "bubble". Other than that, the screen is nice looking. I did not return it because I really only needed 2 panels for my purposes. I removed the hinges, and attached two panels to the wall with angle brackets to create a room divider, so I can't speak to how well the screen stands up. I suppose it's a coin toss when you order this item...it might be perfect, and it might have issues.

I use this to block our cat from entering through the bedroom door. It's tall enough so the cat won't jump it, but low enough so that air flows freely through (above it). Our cat did learn to jiggle the side to get through, but we learned to wedge it against the door-jamb so as to cure that problem.It is attractive and modern-looking, not cheesy.It folds up so compactly that I can store it upright behind the door (when the door is fully open) so that it cannot be seen when not in use.

Due to the many wires and cables down the front of my computer desk, which faces into the living room rather than toward a wall, this screen blocks my computer desk from view when company comes. The screen is sturdy, simple design. The four-panel version opens up to five feet wide without becoming unstable. Due to its lightweight construction, it would not stand up to jostling by kids or animals. The rosewood finish I bought looks natural (the wood is spruce). The two-way hinges makes manipulation of the screen easy. The 'paper' screen is a tightly-stretched stiff textile, like the interfacing-fabric used in sewing. Good purchase.
