When only the best will do...
Yes this is an expensive battery but it will last you years and last longer per charge than any other generic branded battery out there. In my opinion, it's worth spending the extra on this so that you never need to complain in the future.I use this in a M6 mkii and it lasts longer than ive needed thus far. I bought this in addition to the one that came with the camera.

It's a good item.
As I said in my title: it is a good item. It lasts. Other compatible batteries are much cheaper BUT what I value the most is safety. An over-heating battery can do a lot of harm. The most important item is to your personal safety, plus your house, car, etc. I trust Canon to have the built-in software (not only in a Canon battery but also in their charging device) to prevent overheating, more than knock-offs which may or may not be safe. Please note that I have been using Canon products for at least 20 years.

Typical and Confident OEM Performance as Expected!
Pricey as can be but thats Canon...right? I just rather use actual Canon brand batteries just to be safe. This way I won't be worrying that some unknown brand product might adversely affect (or be affecting) my equipment short term or long term and when it comes to batteries you never know what your getting with third party vendors...just my opinion. This original Canon OEM battery worked as expected - just like all my other Canon brand batteries (and it has a cool mini holographic sticker on it - maybe thats why its so dam expensive). Don't get me wrong...I have purchased other off-brand batteries and for the most part have not had any issues...at least that I know of, so I'm not ruling out those for future purchases again but when you get a new camera I just feel more confident having those as rare backup emergency batteries only and maintaining at least 2-3 original OEMs for regular rotated use. Plus that nice little holographic sticker helps me quickly identify the OEMs if they get mixed in a pouch with any third party knockoffs I might be packing :)

Does the job
Canon battery for a Canon camera. I was a bit surprised it needed a full charge. Holds the charge as it should.

Original manufacturer equipment
I've tried 3rd party batteries they are cheaper and you get what you pay for. Canon original cost more but worth it overall for peace of mind. They are expensive but outlast 3rd party by a long shot and I trust using original part over generic on most items. Generic has its place but not for important areas of equipment.
