Luna Rising: Luna Rising Series, Book 1

The premise is great, the story struggles
I will say the story draws you in. Though I have issues with several parts of this story I want to know what happens and will certainly read the last book. I think the author over explains things. You may have an internal thought from a character that is reiterated several times. Each book is very short and then thoughts and feelings are over explained, the first four books could have easily be reduced to two books. Several transitions were abrupt and terribly done. Also, the main character started off tough and just got weaker and weaker and weaker just to be built back up. She seemed to lose her fire and will through the books. Some of this is understandable just due to what she went through. However, I feel the author struggled to keep Ruby true to herself. I finally started seeing her old self again a little in book four, but still she's still missing that spunk and fire I actually liked in her in the first book. Yeah, I think it's safe to say I like the main character less sand less over the course of the series.I was concerned this story would be a reverse harem after reading the first book, and though it seems to be building to that, the first 4 books don't hold any sexual content. This is marketed for 14-18 year olds... Yeah I would say definitely not, definitely not appropriate for that young. Maybe 16+, but that may still be pushing it. It's dark, vivid, and parts are a bit grotesque.

Honesty
I like to start on a positive note. The story line of the book Luna Rising is fantastic. The story is fast pace and definitely keeps your intention. Why I gave this book only three stars because there is hardly any romance. This book is supposedly for 17+ because of cursing and violence but the book is missing the best part of starting a relationship. Even if you went a little further and made it an enmeny to lovers romance it still would have given it more of the elements it needed . Take out the cursing and violence and you have a ten year old book. I am going to start the next book and see if the relationship gets better before I drop and not finish it. I hope so , because the story line is killer. I sincerely hope this helps. I don't leave comments ever....I just give stars but I figured for what you posted on the back pages you deservd a reason for the three stars.

Disappointing at best
It started ok with a likeable main character and an interesting setting. There's practically zero character development but the relationships dynamic were the focus of the book. The saga had a great potential but it was destroyed with the introduction of the villain, the dumbness of Xavier and his pack and the awful incredibly stupid cliffhanger ending. It was a really bad way to end the book and to me it just ended the saga right away.

Good but brief start to series...
I like the premise of the story and the background story of the main characters thus far. Lots of good buildup and drama thus far with nice suspense. I’m excited to see what happens next but I’m a little disappointed with how short this installment was. Good thing it’s on KU otherwise I’m not sure if i would have continued with the series.

It could have been great
I like the overall plot. It's original and exciting, but there is no character development what-so-ever. The dialogue between characters feels forced; in some areas it's extremely rushed and others completely redundant. The 'love story' between characters leaves everything to be desired. I have more chemistry with my dinner than the fated lovebirds showcase. There aren't any twists or shocks and the overall plot and direction of the 5 book series can be guesses within 20 minutes of reading. The books are extremely short, i.e. it took me a little over an hour to read the first book. The whole series could be one or two books. Overall, it's worth what I paid for for all 5 books. I'm intrigued with the writer and will look out for other books of theirs in the future when their writing matures a bit.

blah blah blah blah
the series starts off really well but then blah blah blah blah. it goes no where..... or maybe it has a destination but it will never get there. I read the first book and immediately bought the second. After reading the second I deleted both. I hate series with no end. I really hate paying for books that obviously were written for no other purpose than to draw out or lengthen the series.

An okay sorry
There's potential but it's not quite interesting enough to read the second book. The MC is whiney, the male lead is bipolar, there's a lot of "I hate you, now I love you because you didn't kill me" going on with split personality writing that contradicts itself.

Odd.
I find Ruby to be an odd character. I dont find myself agreeing with how she thinks or responds at all, which makes it hard to get into the story. Also the world building was not great, you dont get a lot of back story to help it all come together. Also it was super short and a true cliff hanger which I hate with a passion. If you arent going to finish an arc this shouldnt be separate books. I am undecided on if i will read the next one.

I hate cliff hangers
I won't be reading anything else by this author, the ideas behind the story had potential but left you hanging which I hate. It starts off staying that Ruby is intelligent, self sufficient and strong but I didn't see that. Ruby needs to stop whinging about being cursed, stop expecting someone else to save her and show a little initiative. The character development and the characters are weak.

Meh
It was...okay.I liked the idea and the characters were good, but it is all very...rushed, without much action and detail to go along with it.Also while I don't mind strong language, I feel like it was a little misplaced a lot of the time, and unnecessary.

Interesting love story
A good story well told. The characters are great, and you get to know them well while still creating mystery. Can’t wait to read the next one.
