Very pleased.
I have used this thermos now for several days and very pleased with it. I have a drip coffee maker that makes excellent coffee and it makes it super hot. I did not like the idea of having the coffee cook on the warming burner throughout the morning so I was looking for a carafe to keep it hot. This does an excellent job. I did not want a super size airpot and this is the perfect size at 1 L or 34 ounces. It holds about four 8 ounce cups of coffee which gets me through the morning. The other thing I required was a glass carafe. Too many times Iโve tried the stainless steel thermos and the metal seems to have an impact on the coffee taste. I have not gone past four hours without emptying the thermos but at four hours the coffee is still scalding hot. I believe the description says it will keep beverages hot for up to 12 hours. The item is made in Japan and the quality is excellent.

Excellent Price, Qualit, and Excellent job of keeping beverages at temp
This is an excellent thermal service carafe-- perfect size to not only take with you if you enjoy hot beverages on the go, but it does a fantastic job of keeping the beverage HOT for hours!!! Well worth the purchase and I plan to purchase a 2nd one.

Good for overnight hot water
Easy to use. Good value, but ideal for keeping water hot overnight, not longer periods. If you fill it up around the advertised "34 hours" it will likely be lukewarm, it's best filled up the night before.

Love it!
I like tea, but I don't like a massive cup of tea because it's either scalding hot or lukewarm when I'm halfway done with it, and if I want another cup I have to go make it. Hence my search for a carafe. So, on with my search, I wanted a carafe under 30 dollars and well built that would last. I didn't want a massive one since it was just me using it. This carafe fit the bill, it holds a quart of liquid (4 cups; 32 ounces) which lasts me through the day. It stays fully hot for 6-8 hours and it's medium warm in the morning if I left it overnight. There's no push buttons, no strainers, it's just a simple pitcher, the black plastic seems like it's a solid one piece with a glass center. I'm not sure what the stuff is to make it thermal around it to retain the heat, but it works, and a screw on top. It looks just like the picture. That's it. It's well built (from Japan), it's sturdy, I have a feeling if I take care of it this will last for many years. Now, how to use it. First I was disappointed that you can't put dairy in it since I'm a chai lover. They tell you on the box 'do not use dairy in this'. I did, I had to try, it curdled and was gross, I tried non-dairy creamer, same result. They warned me so kudos to them. I wasn't upset, I like to experiment and had a good laugh. Only when I tried using dairy products did I have to use a bottle brush to get gunk off the inner glass, if you just make tea or coffee (sugar is fine in it, even spices from chai) you just rinse it out and wash the plastic off and you're good to go. Here are their warnings on the box, which most of them you would think is just common sense. (I paraphrased) Don't allow children to use, it's not intended for them Don't overturn the pot, it may spill (I believe them on this, it seals in the heat but if that lid comes just a little loose and it tips...well...) Don't drink directly from the pot. ('nuff said) Don't hold by the lid when carrying. Always use the handle. Don't remove the base, the glass liner may become damaged. (why you'd want to, I don't know, it all looks like one piece to me) Don't fill with dairy products, baby food, fresh fruit juice, dry ice or carbonated beverages. Third, and the reason I spent a few days trying to decide if I really wanted it. I wanted to see it with the cap off and what the cap looks like. It's just a screw on top made of the same material as the base. The section that goes down into the top of the carafe to block it from spilling and to retain the heat has two grooves in it (one for pouring and one for air so the pouring is easier). Closed firmly all you have to do is turn the lid half a turn, (I hold it out firmly so the lid stays still and it gives it a little more room for the liquid to pour) and gently pour your liquid into your cup. The liquid slides through the groove, it's not fast and a full container can sputter a bit, but holding the lid up just a little lets the liquid pour out more easily, and with a simple half turn back it's sealed shut. They even show you the pictures on the first flap when you open the box what's 'open' and 'closed'. Oh, and don't fill it all the way up to the top, you have the 'neck' area where the lid fits in, I fill it up just to where the neck starts (which is 4 cups, I measured), all the way full and liquid will spit and drip out when it's closed. For the price, I'm pretty darn sure it will not break if you care for it and treat it well. It's well made, but a little care goes a long way. I love this, I would recommend it to all tea and coffee lovers that want a cuppa now and then through the day but only want to make it once.

Impressed
Yes, I really am impressed with this thermos. One positive is itโs not made in China. The next positive is that it keeps even one cup of coffee, nice and hot not boiling but nice and hot for seven hours. Thatโs when I poured the last cup. All steel thermos flasks keep your beverage hot when itโs full for about three hours, then it starts cooling off in a hurry. Just be careful when you rinse it. The insert is glass. Donโt be too rough with it, it might break.

Keeps my tea hot for over 24 hrs!
This carafe is one of the best investments I've made recently. I purchased some expensive herbal tea, & want to make more than one cup per bag. I experimented to see how long this Zojirushi carafe would keep my tea warm. I made a full carafe of tea with just-boiled water; 12 hours later, the tea was still steaming (too hot to drink), 24 hrs later the tea was still hot, and 36 hrs later, the tea was still warm. Not sure why another reviewer said this did not keep their beverage warm... perhaps they did not screw the lid to the "closed" position? The carafe is aesthetically designed, with a glass inner sleeve and screw-on lid. The tea pours well, and its easy to "get the last drop" out. The handle is designed & positioned to balance well when you pour, and it does not heat up at all. Pros: 1) The Zojirushi thermal carafe does it's job & keeps your beverage nice and hot! 2) Easy to use & clean - the round lid simply screws in & out. I was concerned the lid might have holes in it, which would be difficult to clean, but it is one solid piece with large threads. In fact, the grooves are so big, I don't think there will be a lot of tannin or coffee residue build-up on the inside of the lid. The inner sleeve glass & rounded well, so it is easy to clean with a bottle brush. The only part that might be tough to get at is the spout, but it is "streamlined" and large enough to poke a chopstick through. 3) Aesthetic design. I like the simple style of the Zojirushi carafe - the lid, handle, and spout don't protrude too much to take up extra space on the counter, and the smooth profile makes this easy to clean by rinsing & wiping it down. 4) Reasonable price. There are cheaper carafes out there, but I did not like the design (too fussy) Cons: None so far. Cleaning the spout may be the only difficulty. I would certainly recommend the Zojirushi carafe to a friend.

No-nonsense thermal carafe that has everything that it needs and nothing unnecessary. Proven, timeless design from a brand that knows what is imporant in a thermal carafe. Works perfectly with all Japanese and American drip coffee filters. Coffee can be made direcly into the carafe and stays warm at least 12 hours. This is our 4th purchase of the carafe, replacement for a damaged one that resisted daily abuse in the office for the last 17 years. ------ I've returned to the review after several months. The carafe still works as expected, 5/5 stars. Two instructional photos added: coffee set with the traditional Starbucks filter that drips directly into the carafe, and detailed view of all items in this classic coffee set. Enjoy!
