Metaphysics of Astrology: Why Astrology Works (Existence - Consciousness - Bliss)

You know author Ivan Antic is a bit of a genius when he can reduce high level complex subjects to basic prose that a reader with average intelligence can comprehend and enjoy.

I’m not sure why people have said this book “has nothing to do with Astrology” or is “non-mystical”?! Metaphysical = mystical, abstract, spiritual, esoteric…As far as other reviews saying “It has nothing to do with Astrology”… Umm, well it is not Astrology 101 w/typical traditional modern day studies (Sign, Planets, Houses, Aspects etc). It’s the author’s concept of parallels & connections on a cellular level between all living things, starting from the beginning of time, even before we took our first breath, and the unfolding and evolution of our soul’s destiny and journey, how it’s all tied together. It helped me understand everything so much clearer!

Highly recommended for anyone who is interested in the philosophy of astrology.

You can tell this book is translated from original meaning and understanding. It takes a very spiritual approach to explaining astrology. I love this book for it's abstractness and the way it does not assume the reader is unintelligent. Although if you are a logical thinker this book may be hard to read. It covers concepts in a way that is vague and requires you to intuitively make connections among-st many different religions philosophies sciences and disciplines. It is based upon what I think can be called a lot of universal truths according to the author. If you are an all encompassing thinker I recommend this book.

I received this book in the mail today. I think I was on page 18 when I paused reading to order 4 more books written by this author. I just paused again on page 44 to write this review. Absolutely illuminating.

The author makes clear the relationship between the natal chart of one's birth to the soul, both the personal and the divine Soul of the world. The natal chart describes the nature of one's entry point into this lifetime, emphasizing the struggles that offer one the opportunity for increasing freedom from identification with the mundane level of bodily existence. These struggles provide the pain necessary to increase awareness and consciousness of the bigger picture of life and the healing that leads to acceptance and love for oneself and others as fellow travelers awakening to the wholeness that we have always an integral part of.

This book starts beyond the basics, which I liked. It does a decent job at explaining the why and how astrology works but I think it may be a bit too much for some to understand. I also would have liked the different types of astrology included and the true sidereal especially.

Totally went in thinking it might be another insightful and entertaining read about some novice level astrology stuff, but finished feeling like I have a better grip on the reality of existence. What’ the freakin’ heck! It took me over a month to finish this because I would re-read pages over and over again, making sure I grasped every paragraph.If you are ready to take on a seriously brilliant (but intense) read, this ones worth a go!

Key concepts are good exposed but the themes should be deeper and bring further : ) anyway it's to appreciate

Delighted to have found this book. If you want to know why astrology works - as it says on the tin - then look no further. Antic's prose style makes it all the more enjoyable; I will most certainly check his other titles out.

This book contains interesting insides concerning astrology but the text is poorly writting in an heavy style. There are very few illustrations that support the text and no bibliography.

The book was so informative. It answered all the questions I've ever had about why astrology is so complex. This book explained it simply. The wealth of knowledge in the writer was astonishing. I've followed astrology for a long time and never really put things into a space/time/ gravity context before. This book was truly transformative.
