Ok whoever came up with this idea needs an award! Spaghetti, rice and everything else I boil would always boil over because I always turn my fire up too high and I never want to sit there and watch a stupid pot boil. Now, with this item I never have to worry about that again. Nothing ever, EVER boils over anymore. I love this item. I use it all the time and I would recommend it to my friends. I have given a few of them as gifts.

As long as you don't overflow the container you are using to boil a liquid you should be able to get full use out of this. If you use too much water it won't always stop all the spilling.

My husband LOOOVVVES spaghetti, but he always has the pot boil over. I finally got this as a gift, and he confessed (much later) that he thought I'd wasted the money. For months I never saw him use it, so finally-- while he was yet again frantically trying to keep starchy water from spilling all over the stove-- I pulled it out of the cupboard and slapped it over the pot. Instant fix!He has used it every time we boil ANYthing now ("better safe than sorry" and I agree since you can drop it in the upper rack of the dishwasher or just run it under hot water to clean).

It really works and so helpful for convection range where it's a real problem when liquid boils over because it interferes with connectivity, burner shuts off. My son in law got me this. How thoughtful, right?

This is a great lid for almost all sizes of pot. No boiling over so far. Great for the distracted.

The center part does not really stay attached.

Dislike that it doesnt clip together in the center. It falls off whereas other brands dont when cooking
