Very Good Caulk Gun, but No Tube Cutter
I really like this caulk gun. I bought it to replace a drip-less caulk gun that I've owned for years. There is no brand on my old caulk gun, so I don't even know who made it. I really liked that gun. That said, I think I may like this one even more. It's not quite as simple, but it works well and is very easy to squeeze and installing and removing the 10 oz. caulk tubes is also very easy.I'm using it primarily to apply the very thick polyurethane sealant, Trempro 635. I've also used it to apply Dicor 501 LSW, and again it worked well. Besides being "almost" drip-less (more on this later), the squeeze factor is a big one. My old gun really required effort to squeeze out these caulks. I even purchased a pneumatic caulk gun, when I had to do large amounts at a time, but it failed miserably and I ended up using my old gun and two hands. I wish that I'd purchased this one instead. I would have saved a bunch of money and it really is very easy to squeeze, at least for me.Now lets address the drip-less claim. Yes it's drip-less as long as you remember to push the release lever with your thumb when you end your bead. This releases all of the plunger pressure and the caulk stops flowing. If you don't it will continue to flow a bit. Aside from this, the gun provides very good control because it is easy to squeeze. I had no problem controlling my caulk / sealant flow by squeeze pressure alone. I was able to do a very neat job. Now I can't verify this, but I think the squeeze to pressure ratio is higher higher than 12:1 as advertised. I've seen a very similar gun on Amazon under a different brand and it claims 20:1. This could be more in that range. So why only four (4) stars? Well, there are a couple of reasons really. First and biggest reason is there is no tube cutter. The tube cutter found on quality caulk guns is not there. There is no cutter to nip off the end of your tube. So, now to prep your tube, you need to have another tool such as a pocket knife or razor knife and all of that takes much longer than nipping the end of your tube off somewhere on your gun. I almost did not buy this gun for that reason alone. I worried about the quality, but it had some good reviews and the price was pretty good, and I'm just a handy DIYer not someone using this tool professionally, and I knew I could return it, so I decided to give it a shot. If I were using this professionally where every minute saved goes to my bottom line I would have skipped this gun just for that reason. As it is, I'm very satisfied with my choice. The two problems I pointed out, the puncture pin location and the lack of a tip nipper could be easily fixed. Then this would be a 5 Plus star tool.

This thing rocks
Had I known this had existed I would not have used my old hardware store caulking gun for the past 20 years. Great design, easy, well made.

Nice caulk gun but too short for some caulk tubes.
I basically like this caulk gun, well built reasonable price but had to trim last 1/4 inch off of the caulk tubes I was using because the gun was a bit too short. How did something like that happen, don't know. Basic engineering ignored I guess. Hense 3 star rating.

Where is the cutter hole?
Better price then at home depot for a semi quality caulk gun. But my big complaint is WHERE is the cutter hole? This is a major oversight . Even the cheap guns for $5 have a cutter hole. Did amazon ask anyone professional before they designed this?

Works a treat!
This is a properly decent caulking gun! It's missing a few features that the more expensive models have, but it's strong and doesn't bend with pressure.Recommended!
