Davis Instruments Charting Kit (Pkg. 6 Pieces Included)

The Davis Instruments Charting Kit has only one 45-90-45 triangle included. It could use a second triangle, because there are many times where a second triangle, used with the one provided is handier than using the parallel-ruler. As an aside, the edges of the parallel-ruler I received were not smooth, probably due to the manufacturing process. However, the small irregularities on the edges were annoying in that they prevent a pencil from making a smooth, straight line. I used an emery stick to smooth the plastic edges. That was easy enough to do, but the manufacturing process could use a little more oversight.

Everything seems to be good quality. I bought this set in order to teach my grandson how to chart courses so that when he sails with me he can practice his navigation skills

It does the job

I used this set to get my Captain's license in Destin Florida. It was perfect for the OUPV class and I passed the charting test with this set.

Bought for my OUPV class and test. The divider was missing one tip. Overall then kit was a waste of money.

The compass was missing a tip. No way to hold the lead. Useless. It's important to the kids because that's what you use to measure the distance. Very disappointed. I should have read the reviews. Somebody else also got one without a tip. That can't be an anomaly.
