- PRINTED JAPANESE TRADITIONAL ART - This painting "Wind God and Thunder God" is work of Tawaraya Sotatsu in the 17th Centuries. He painted on a pair of two folded screens. The fact that these screens were replicated in works by Ogata Korin and, later, Sakai Hoitsu evidences their belief that these were painted by Sotatsu. These screen were designated as national treasure in Japan and still fascinate people around the world.
