LaCie 1big Dock 16TB External Hard Drive HDD Docking Station – Thunderbolt 3 USB 3.1 USB 3.0 7200 RPM Enterprise Class Drives, for Mac and PC Desktop, Data Recovery (STHS16000800)

The fan on my LaCie 1big Dock Thunderbolt 3 4TB HDD and Desktop Hub was not turning on and the top of the case seemed to be getting quite hot after one hour. I decided to return it for a replacement so I did a secure erase. The drive was left on for several hours during this process and after time, the fan eventually turned on. I missed it in the manual (page 22) but the fan is temperature controlled so It will not turn on when you first apply power. The unit needs to be on for a L_O_N_G_ time to generate heat before you will notice any fan activity. I cancelled my return and am quite happy with it. This is a very heavy and well built external HDD and has been working well with TimeMachine for Mac.

The drive works well, but in this day and age where we're all trying to cut down on waste, LaCie includes a variety of cables for different regions in the world -- does any other company do this? This adds to the cost and just makes more landfill in a time when resources are scarce and garbage is piling up. Shame on LaCie.

This was exactly what I wanted. It is easy to use, good quality, and the thing I like the most is that you can put replace the drive inside with another if you so choose.

Had no problems with any of it. The installation or use. Works great and was easy to install.

I design large-format pieces for printing. Saving large photoshop files takes well over 30 minutes sometimes, and oftentimes doesn't move beyond 0 percent in Adobe for 15+ minutes. The drive is plugged directly in to my laptop, not thru a bridge. Disappointing for sure.

I purchased this product in October. It would not work. Even my husband who works in big tech in licensing and support couldn't get it to work. I contacted the customer support and have been trying to have the issue resolved and they said they wold replace the product, but have yet to actually do so. I now have a vey expensive paperweight sitting on my desk. I would NEVER recommend this company or product!

It comes with Nas Pro drive only. Mac have to connect one port only. The other port can connect to another T2 devices. I had a previous model is much better than this one. Extra c port can connect to iPad and Mac can connect any port.

I am a photographer with 12TB of images. I utilize two raid systems for on site security for drive failure, but fire or theft risks are not covered by this back up strategy. I utilize these Lacie drives to mirror my data and store off site. Much cheaper than my raid system - I use two of these drives in rotation for the off site storage. The large storage capacity and reliability are perfect for a whole sale data dump. Great drives and nice engineering of the mechanical case

A great reliable drive. I hooked this one up to my imac for fast search of over 50,000 pics and video shorts and there's still tons of room on left. I've bought a number of these drives over the years and never had a problem with them.

This is a good drive, and everything they promised. it would be nice if it operated at Thunderbolt 3 speeds, but it does the job. I'm glad it has an enterprise level mechanism too. some of the competitors don't at the same price point.

Mixed views. Drive was very good when it worked. Sadly it failed after less than two weeks as unit would not power on. Either power supply or internal power circuitry failed. Have been forced to work through Seagate support services. Initially, customer service was excellent and their Data Recovery Service was excellent, but on June 30, Seagate eliminated any and all telephone support and now only uses web text/chat-based support. NOT efficient and VERY frustrating to use. Seagate promised a quick replacement drive for failed unit, but it's been several weeks and no sign of it as yet.
