Just like it was in my childhood 70 years ago!
I like the gentle grit and same taste I remember. The lid is disfunctional, but I need to put it in a jar with an airtight seal anyway since I live in a tropic area. My teeth feel smoother and are looking whiter after just a couple of weeks. Coffee stains are fading nicely It only takes little dabs of powder to clean each quadrant area. It lasts a long time and works great. It's the same price as a tube.

Love it!!! Sensory friendly, great taste and clean white teeth.
I don't like strong mint flavor or the gel/paste texture of most tube toothpastes. It's a fine powder that sticks well enough to wetted toothbrush when dipped into the powder. This one tastes like Canada mints (chalky , very very light mint and a little like pepto bismol). It foams while brushing and rinses clean with no irritation to the lips or surrounding skin. I didn't have too much trouble twisting the whole top off but the top flap did break right away. I didn't mind because I was planning on putting small amounts in a dipping container anyway. The date on the bottom is the made date not the expiration.

Easy to open with a *blunt* object
I got this to take on the plane so it doesn't count toward the liquids limit. It was the most cost-effective product that fit the bill, plus it has fluoride. It tastes like a mint lifesaver. It's super easy to open if you have the right tools. You need a BLUNT metal object to push the seal into the container. I just used the end of the whetstone that came with my knives (in the picture). I set the metal end of the whetstone inside the small inner hole inside the plastic lid and banged down once on the other end of the whetstone with a 10 lb dumbbell (but really a hammer would have worked). That makes the inner red plastic seal pop off cleanly into the container in one piece. At first I tried using a steak knife, but that was too sharp so it just sliced a small hole in the seal (and probably got tiny plastic pieces into my toothpaste, ew).I haven't figured out how to pour the tooth powder onto the toothbrush without making a mess and wasting a lot. I will probably dump what I need into a small jar so I can easily pick up the powder with my toothbrush. It's a fine product but as others have said, I don't understand why they made the packaging so terrible in so many ways.

As good as I remember, wish the packaging was better.
I grew up using Colgate tooth powder. At some point, it quit being available in the United States and I moved on to other oral care products, but I never forgot about it. Still manufactured in India and now available on Amazon. A little goes a long way. One can lasts four months brushing three times per day making it a good value in spite of being a grey market item. Leaves your teeth feeling dental visit clean. My only complaint is the can and lid. The can sometimes arrives damaged and seal in the cap is difficult to remove cleanly.

Tooth powder good, packaging bad
My family used Pepsodent tooth powder when I was a kid. I used to love it. I have never seen it since. I thought I'd try this brand to see if I liked it. I like the flavor and the grit a lot. It tastes similar to Pepsodent. Wintergreen flavor, something like a wintergreen LifeSaver as someone pointed out. I really like that it is a powder instead of the usual paste. Powder does not create foam in your mouth so you don't have it overflowing down your chin. Much cleaner. It cleans the teeth just as well as a paste and leaves a pleasant taste in the mouth. You need a minimal amount so it is more economical than paste. I am glad I tried it.One thing I don't like, which many reviewers complained about, is the terribly designed plastic cap. I deducted two stars for this. First of all I think it should be metal like the can, with an easy to remove sanitary plastic seal around it when new. Instead it is all plastic. And here's the problem. It has a flip-top cap on top of a larger fixed cap, force fitted to the metal spout of the can. The fixed cap has a small hole with a collar around it for pouring, with a thick plastic plug at the bottom of the cap that is molded in place. It is almost impossible to pierce it without incurring serious injury because it is so thick. Many people gave up and some stuck a heated pointed object into it to pierce it, making a mess. That didn't satisfy me. I managed to get the base cap off by screwing it counterclockwise while forcing it upward. I then drilled out the hole with a 5/16" bit in a speed-controlled electric hand drill at slow speed, resting the cap against a block of wood. The bit was an exact fit and the hole came out pretty clean. Forcing the cap back onto the spout, it looked fairly professional. See pictures for details. No one should have to go to this length to open a can of tooth powder. It is ridiculous. Very poor design that is potentially dangerous. Another thing is, the flip-top cap doesn't close tightly. It lifts up with a feather touch. Not what you want with a powder. There are a lot of complaints about the can being beyond the expiration date but they are probably by people who didn't read the back label on the can. The label reads:"EXPIRY 24 MONTHS FROM MFD.""MFD. MONTH, YEAR & B. NO. SEE BOTTOM"The date on the bottom of the can is "10-20 B31," meaning that the MFD. (Manufacturing Date) is 10-31-2020, I think, and the expiry date is 24 months LATER, on 10-31-2022. See pictures for details.

Winner!
Teeth feel really clean and is gentle on my teeth. It also has helped with my bleeding gums. It’s pretty amazing and I would recommend and have to anyone. It was the only powder for teeth I could find and it is a winner. Bought it because it was powder but it is terrific on my gums. It has stoped the bleeding and numbs any discomfort from bleeding gums. You’d be foolish to not to give it a try. It’s also packaged in a tin container rather than plastic.
