Great book, a lot of it is general knowledge hiding in plain sight but it takes somebody to put it in order and Ian does that terrifically

This is an exemplary method in how to learn to do cold reading using any system (such as tarot, astrology, and so on), and is, as far as I know, one of a kind. The problem with this field is that there is—or was—nothing out there to teach you how to pull it all together, until this.I think this book, being sui generis, is indispensable, and I could recommend it as a standalone book for someone who wanted to start cold reading. In other words, you don't actually need to buy any other books on the subject if you don't want to. And I say that as one who has perhaps eighty other books on the subject.What more can I say?

I have really enjoyed reading this book. I don't really have an ambition to give cold readings but I am curious as to how it works and how the techniques may be useful in other situations. This book is a thoughtful and enjoyable read. If you want to know how to learn these techniques, it's all there for the learning. If like me, you would like to learn a little more about how our brains work and read some lovely anecdotes then this book is delightful in that regard, I was surprised how my thoughts around cold reading were really changed by Ian's insights into the art. I like having my mind changed. Definitely recommended.

Full of great info on this subject. The book arrived fast and in perfect condition.

It was mildly interesting but I just wasn't a fan of how the author tried so hard to sell himself. Just wasn't a huge fan in general but may be good for providing framework for someone who already has reading techniques.
