What a gorgeous kettle! But apart from looking beautiful..... it seems to do its job pretty well too. It's lightweight, boils very quickly and has the most perfect pouring spout of any kettle I have ever owned. I was a bit reluctant to buy a kettle that has the gauge under the handle, but it is easy enough to see with the numbers in black and is just a matter of getting used to I think. The other thing I will have to get used to is not being able to see when the water boils, having had glass kettles for several years. It does have an auto shut-off, but I find kettles usually boil for ages before shutting off and I have always shut them off manually. Using less water it is quite easy to hear when it is boiling, and also it shakes about a bit once boiling! The lid isn't hard to get off, but it does splash water everywhere if you just yank it as I did the first time. We live and learn! I think though that I will fill it from the spout in future, especially as I only fill it to just above the minimum level nowadays. As some people have commented on the funny taste, I did boil it once with white vinegar and water, and then with water only, prior to using it for the first time and there seemed nothing wrong after that. It's an absolutely lovely kettle, and with a two-year guarantee I think you can't really go wrong.UPDATE: I've had this kettle for just over four months and now the black paint is starting to chip off. I have no idea why this is happening as the kettle is only moved from its base to my mug right next to it and is filled with a jug, not at the tap, so absolutely nothing is knocking against it. This is extremely disappointing as it is very noticeable (being black) and looks horrible.

The kettle is well designed and well made, unlike our previous kettle it’s relatively quiet. So far it’s been reliable.

Having read the previous reviews, I bought this kettle. I have not been disappointed. Yes, it is noisier than other models I have had, but it is not intrusive. When full, the top shakes a little as it reaches boiling point, but the base stays firm and safe. When removing the lid when cool, there are a few drops of water but this is to be expected. The joy of knowledge of not having a metal pin failure from push button opening as with some other costly brands, counteracts this.The kettle pours well. If you try to pour as the kettle is still boiling any spout will cause splashing. I pour as soon as the rolling boil subsides and there is no danger of splashing boiling water.I love the pink coloured light on the switch and the general smart look of the kettle. It is slightly heavier than some kettles but it is well balanced and suitable for those with arthritic hands. The plastic heating base might be disconcerting if you have had metal ones before, but it functions well.

Finally got my kettle after it got returned to sender & consequently had to reorder! Obviously just a blip BUT! Very stylish & looks very smart!I ordered this kettle as it said it was fast boiling & more importantly QUIET! As we now how a living, dining ,kitchen space it was quite important that the new kettle was quieter! Hmm now decided to return as def NOT quiet ☹️

This kettle is very fast to boil it has a capacity of 1.7l , its a great kettle looks amazing on the worktop, if I had one small gripe it would be that the water gauge is positioned directly under the handle so makes it difficult to see the water level when filling, but honestly this is not a deal breaker, and does not affect the functionality of the kettle. I would recommend this product.

This is a beautiful kettle, would have given 5 stars but find the level window hard to see behind the handle.
