You will need on off switch, in line fuse, wire, 12 volt battery.

What are foam pads for?

They act as a cushion, caution these lights a not very bright, I wouldn't recommend drilling holes in something nice ,

How many amps dose it use? When all lights are in series?

No sure but I did have them on for a few hours with no battery drain. Hope this helps
