Great kit
Bought the 20 Gallon and it came unbroken wich is am very happy with.It comes with food, bacteria starter, fish net, water conditioner, and a little temp sticker. It was packaged very nicely with Styrofoam blocks on the sides to prevent dings.I do wish instructions came with the bacteria starter but the water conditioner does come with instructions. The light is decently bright and you could easily change it out if you needed to as it doesn't come installed in the lid.The filter works great and is pretty quiet. I haven't had a filter like it before but it cleared up the water quite fast. It was very easy to put together but it does have instructions. It also looks big enough to add additional filter media.Only downside is it doesn't come with a heater but overall this is a great product for a good price.

All necessities included
Love this kit.Filter works well and lid fits perfect. Cleaned the muddy tank in just one afternoon and then I can swap out the filters easily. The small net is handy, too. All the basic necessities are included.Tank is constructed well also. I filled it half full before placing the tank where I want it, but my finger got caught under it. When I pulled finger out, it slipped and had a half-inch drop onto the surface. I thought it was going to break but it held up.This leads to some area for potential improvement:1. Wish the bottom of the tank has some sort of groove to get fingers under when moving the tank.2. The light is not adjustable. It works but is a bit too bright for the size of the tank.3. Wish the lid has some sort of hinge clip so I can lift just one side of it without worrying that it will drop into or behind the tank.Even with these minor things, it is still a very good fish tank.

I like this tank, easy filter maintenance. more importantly, fish happy?
Nice Aquarium, quiet and filters easy to change. I was used to have undergravel filters for years when I had 5 tanks and now not many tanks have them, the side filters are nice though. Better than I thought, I have had it set up for maybe a week. You need to get a heater, decor and also an air pump if you want a bubbler in it. I set it up and a couple days later put 4 smaller Platys in it. I did not use the bio liquid in it. Too unclear in directions and what I could find, it said to do it again the 2nd day, then 3rd. I have cycled tank with a couple fish before, as long as you are vigilant about partial water changes about once a week. About a quarter of the water each time for about 4 to 6 weeks. Sooner if water looks a bit off. I like the hood a lot, it blends from tank to hood really well and it has a hole for removing and feeding. All I had to have extra were the heater and air pump, but I already had them in my supplies. The filters just slip out and put a new one in, easy. The light is bright, I don't have live plants, so they suffice. I don't really like tanks that have to many openings for evaporation and mist, from air pumps and bubbles. I was getting way too many platy fry for the 2, 5 gal tanks I have. I decided, 1 more to accommodate the additions.I am concerned about getting too many more and do not know what to do with them. I have had other fussier fish but these are very hardy, but breed way too fast. I have 12 total fry in the two small tanks in the last 1 and half months. Cute, but should have ears, I swear they are like rabbits. I will see as time goes on how well the tank holds up. Can't fore see a problem except running out of room in the next few months. I would recommend this tank, but if you get Platys they are always prego. Ugh!

Beautiful tank, filter is loud
UPDATE - I came into the office the next day, flipped the switch and was delighted to see the light come on. The tank looks great! Now, I'm listening to the rattle of the filter and I feel sorry for fish that have to hang out in that water the rest of their lives feeling and hearing that pump's buzzing. I don't mind it so much, but I hate it for the fish. It is loud, but my brain gets used to it as background noise.Yeah, I saw the other reviews complaining about the light not working or stopped working after a little while. I thought I'd take my chances cuz what are the odds that every single one is bad? Well good thing I don't play the lottery because my chances we're not very good on this one! Put the whole thing together with water and decorations and following all the instructions. It's so cute! I set it up in my office and I can't wait to move the fish from my house to the office. But the very last step was turning on the light to view my masterpiece and I was brokenhearted when nothing happened. I changed the plug to various different outlets I detached the cord from the plug and put it back in. Didn't even get a flicker! From looking at the other reviews with the save issue, and since Amazon is the sender instead of the manufacturer, I see no review responses saying that they would replace the light. So I guess I now need to go out and buy a light. One of the main reasons for taking the fish to the office was because I'm going out of town for a while and I need my employees. And now that whole thing is on hold because I can't bring the fish in if they don't have a light. So, the rest of the aquarium is perfect, I love the skinny filter, the tanks adorable, but you're taking your chances on the light. Just know what you're getting!

Good product
Good quality product and great customer support. Perfect size for my small apartment. Setting up a betta & corydora tank and this has everything to start the set up. Id rcecomend picking up a more natural LED light if you plan on keeping plants, looks nicer too than the stock LED.The tank has thick glass and strong silicone joints. I like the pump, but might need additional tubing if you want to do a more shallow tank. The chemicals are good to start up, but youd need to get more for regular maintenance.I havent had a tank in years and think this is a good setup for a beginner looking to start a moderate sized tank. It has almost everything youd need and at a fair price too.Anybody entering the hobby I'd recommend getting a ph & nitrogen test kit and tap water stabilizer if you really want to maintain the tank, but this is a great starting point.

THIS FILTER KILLED MY BETTA (graphic) — Rest in peace my sweet boy (Dawn).
DO NOT use this filter that comes with this tank ESPECIALLY if you’re planning to use it for small fish such as a betta. I went on amazon to look for a nice five gallon tank with a filter for my betta and so I got this tank based on the mostly positive reviews. Don’t get me wrong, the tank itself was fine, but the filter was what killed my fish. I only put him in the tank for a few days, then suddenly one day he just disappeared. I was really scared, throughout my years of owning betta fish, this has never happened before — keep in mind: this was my first five gallon tank. The only tank I have ever owned was a 1.5 gallon and I wanted to give my betta more space as I was learning more about betta caretaking. I looked for him in every corner of the tank, the substrate, between my live plants, behind the rocks, in his hideout, behind the heater, and even on the floor to see if he might’ve jumped out. But, he was no where to be found. My last resort was to look in the filter. I took the whole filter apart and even looked in the sponge, but he was wasn’t there. He was gone. The next day, he still wasn’t there but the only thing I saw was pieces of his fins and small particles of him in the back of the filter where the filter cartridges are supposed to be. I assumed he was sucked into the filter, suffocated, passed away, then got shredded into pieces. There was no body until 5 days later… Please DO NOT use the filter that comes with this especially if you have small aquatic animals. Rest in peace, Dawn.

Great Starter Tank
This tank is fantastic! I am used to bigger tanks, but I had to downsize after I moved and this tank fits my needs perfectly! The glass is thick and durable, and the filter is surprisingly good considering the price. If you're new to this, I would definitely recommend buying the 20-gallon kit as water changes are more forgiving at 20 gallons than at 10 or 5. Also, I suggest that you do your research before dipping your toes into this otherwise this hobby will become more of a nightmare than something that is relaxing. I should also mention that the first kit that was sent to me was cracked, but it looked like that happened because the box was hit hard on the side with something thin. The replacement they sent me came even faster and was incredibly simple to exchange as a UPS driver just came and picked up the box from my house the next day. I would recommend opening the inner box without pulling it out of the outer box and checking the contents like the filter and the tank for breaks so that if you need to repackage it to be sent back it is just as simple as taping it up again. Also, it would be good to assume that the tank could come broken as fish tanks are known not to ship very well so if you want this faster with a better guarantee and the same kit is in a store near you I would recommend going to the store instead.

Sembra tutto ok

It's a nice starter tank and the price was right.
It's a nice 5 gallon starter tank. I measured the actual dimensions as 16 in. Wide x 10 in. High x 8 in. Deep. It would fit nicely on a desk or small cabinet. It arrived safely, although there was no extra packaging outside of the product packaging.I'm happy it came with starter water conditioner and bacteria culture, although I had ordered my own because these samples won't last beyond a couple water changes. The food sample is a regular bottle size, which is nice. The stick on thermometer is crap, and I removed it and will buy a better one that is easier to read.I like the light and hood lid. Unfortunately the lid isn't hinged at the back, but I will use the feeding hole so not need to lift the lid often. Also the lid will prevent water evaporation and keep my betta from jumping out.The filter it came with is pretty silent, with only a low humming noise. Not sure I like the motor itself being inside the water of the aquarium due to these vibrations, but there is a foam cover to the start of intake tube to prevent small fish getting sucked up. Compared to the aquarium filters at my local pet store, this filter is silent. To further reduce any vibrations from the motor, I greased the impeller shaft with a little vaseline, and ensured the intake tube itself was tightly setup. At the contact point of the intake tube to the hang on unit I added some aquarium foam to prevent reverberation. At the contact point between the water output spout and tank edge, I used a silicone ear plug squised down to hold the HOB to the edge of the tank, which also helps to keep it from shifting.I modified the filter media with ceramic bio rings and aquarium sponges. Those filter cartridges are pretty pathetic and wasteful.I used Feltac pads stacked on each other to level the HOB housing unit to the back of the tank, instead of the little plastic circle. This also dampens any vibrations being sent to the back glass panel from the motor inside the tank.It came in one piece. The price was right. It runs pretty silent. The glass is clear. And it came with everything you need to set up your aquarium. I'm overall happy.Edit: the tank, filter and light is still working great. I wanted to update something that I forgot to mention before. The LED light included is pretty bright, and there is no dimmer switch included. Luckily I found one online specifically made for aquarium lights. Just if you're looking to be able to control the light level or color, this tank doesn't offer that.
