As others have commented, it has a terrible and noxious smell when it arrives. I had to throw away all the packaging and leave it out in the sun for 3 days to de-odorize. Even now the U-bolt still smells a little.What's worse is that the lock holder for the U-bolt that you're supposed to attach to the post vertically under your seat is way too big! I screwed it in as tight as it goes and it the whole thing has enough space to slide up and down. I could attach it to the horizontal bar between my legs but it looks terrible.Would not purchase this again and would suggest none of you do either.Edit: updating my review from 1 to 4 stars. The smell takes off one star but I contacted the seller and they responded within hours and sent me the missing pieces that stopped the holder from sliding around. Great service, "real people" indeed!

Like I have stated in some of my other reviews, my husband has just got back into biking and has spent a fortune on biking equipment so he purchased this 4 feet bike combination cable lock to keep his belongs safe. When it arrived, he was very pleased with how well it’s made but was not happy at all about the nasty smell that it had. We had to leave it out for a few days before he would even use it. But overall he is happy with this purchase.Pros:- very durable- cable is 4 feet long- very affordable- can be used many ways- has kept my husbands cycling stuff safe so far- the lock is 5 digits (hard for somebody to crack the code)- cable is very solid, but also flexible- convenient to haveCons:- has a very nasty odor when arrives

Product arrived on time and as described. The locks work well, and for the price I am happy with them. The U bolt was a little smaller then I expected, but is good for locking the wheel to the frame. The plastic is not the strongest, and I accidentally stripped one screw installing it. My general impression of the materials and lock design is they are not the best. I think they would be easy to pick or to cut through. That being said, if someone wants to cut through a lock or pick it you have to spend a lot of money to get something strong enough to stop them. For the price, I think it is a very decent set of locks and mounts.

I purchased this lock set about 10 weeks ago for my adult son. The U-bolt, which is used regularly, has performed acceptably, other than the plastic coating being somewhat less resistant to nicks/cuts, than one might like, however the Tonyon 5 digit cable lock recently failed after less than a dozen uses. The Tonyon was always been stored inside (not carried on bike and not exposed to weather). It took about 10 mins to cut through the cable, using an old hacksaw, after the lock failed closed, while securing our two bikes.Update: 4/20/16 - The Seller did respond to my emailed inquiry, and graciously sent us a replacement set, which arrived quickly. The replacement combo lock was working perfectly, following the standard combo resetting from 00000, so I've raised my rating 2 stars, based on this Seller's responsive customer service. Please note, the plastic bags did smell rather strongly of what seemed akin to volatile organic content (VOC), so I quickly disposed of the packaging, out of doors, and left both locks outside, as well, since they had a similar odor, though somewhat less pungent than the bags. The box indicates the locks are from China.Update: 1/5/17 - The plastic U-bolt lock holder failed after about a year of regular use. When I contacted the company to request a replacement holder, if available, they responded immediately, saying they'd check and subsequently (1-2 days later), wrote to let me know they didn't have just the holder, so they were sending a 2nd replacement lockset, so my son could once again secure it to the frame, instead of inside his backpack. Based on this superb level of customer service, I've increased to 5 stars. Thanks, Blake!!

I read the other people's reviews that this thing smelled bad and completely dismissed them. Then I got the lock, opened the package and I could FEEL the smell in my eyes and mouth it was so strong. I kept this thing outside for 4 days and it still has a bit of smell. Then, to make things worse the lock "holster" that attaches to the bike broke the first time I attached the lock to it. I don't even want a replacement holster because it is so cheap appearing that it will likely break again.Overall, 2 stars only because it looks like the lock is sturdy and not too heavy. I'm just hoping the lock is of higher quality than the included holster should someone try to steal my bike.

So first of all, if you think that the U-bolt will fit around both the frame of your bike and the front wheel, keep searching because this isn't the correct product. For those who understand these products are meant to be used in unison, here is my review:I'll start with the things I don't like, and yes they are extremely nit-picky, hence this product still gets a 5-star rating in my book.1) The packaging smells very funky, I live in a dorm and the plastic bags they came in made my room smells like moth balls for a couple days, but I assume most people buying this have more space, so the odor will air out.2) When unlocked, the bolt jiggles a lot so it sounds weaker than it is, but once locked the noise isn't present. Don't worry your bike will be plenty safe!And now for what I do like:1) THE PRICE, holy cow this was a deal. Other than buying used, this was the best value I could find on the internet!2) The mounts, I love how both locks come with mounts, making them convenient to carry along3) 2 keys, I understand this is pretty standard, but I still appreciate it.4) The size, I love how small the bolt is. This makes it extremely convenient to bring along!
