Such a nice 18 ft pole for $31… love the black and gold. The end has a cork for easy storage, and the cork is embellished with a little polished stone… super sleek looking all around. Very happy with the quality.

Ultra lite and geese action! Beware of telescopic joints getting stuck. Apply a little KY jelly at each joint: (very little). The tip is similar to Tenkara and has to be handled with care. Nice rod and will be very productive! 4 stars only because of joints being a challenge when dry to slide.

These Tenkara rods are fun work great. Like all fishing gear moisture ruins the glues and carbon fiber on these. They will break easier if left in the bed of your truck or on the dock

When I first got it, it looked great and was excited to use it, until I actually used it. The very first time I used it the tip broke off. Fortunately, another tip is included, but it immediately broke as well. Wasn't impressed at all. I will not be buying another one.

The price and options.

Qualification for review: I have been fly fishing in the western USA for 25 years, 9 years ago I found tenkara and love it. I fish my western rods frequently and tenkara allows me to fish more water with harder drifts and trickier currents. Tenkara is unequalled in pocket water as well. This is/ was my fourth tenkara rod. The others are a tenkara triple and two from tenkara USA. I bought the 6.3m as I thought that I could increase my reach and be able reach 40 feet away and manage a drift. Boy was I wrong. I barely cast as far as my 13.5 foot T. USA. The problem is in the flex of the longer rod. When stopping at the 12-o-clock position, on the back cast, the rod springs back forward and ruins any chance of loading the tip as the line travels back. I was fishing a 20 foot level line with a 5 foot leader. I cast it for about an hour and tried stopping in my forward and back casts at different points and was finally able to reach 10 feet beyond the tip. Those that give this multiple stars either have a shorter rod or understand tenkara to be high sticking and just dangling the fly. I got what I paid for and to top it off I lost the cap and so now I can’t send it back.

This is a very nice Tenkara pole for a fisherman new to the Tenkara style of fishing. I got the 21 ft model to use for large mouth bass fishing. It comes in a nice self contained tube and has an extra tip with the short string to attach your line. It is all carbon fiber and weighs only 8.7 oz. You can take this system anywhere , take the supplied top cap off, attach your line and lure and start catching fish, if there are any in the water you are fishing in. The rod is very flexible, yet it handled the 4 lb bass I caught easily. The system comes in nine lengths, so there is one for almost any need. It is fun to attach a jig to 10 ft of line and move it around in front of a fish and watch the fish hit the jig. It is a fun fight on a rod this long. On a small trout stream you can just reach across and use it like a fly rod, but you can be really precise with your lure placement. The finish is excellent. Take care when putting it away to start with the largest section first , otherwise you will be taking it apart to get all the sections back in sequence.

This thing is super super super strong. I wish they would of gave 2” on the factory string to tie the main line on!!!!! It was a butt kicker to finally got tied just not enough factory material to work with!!!! But super super lite supper super strong and for Jiggin right along the bank and pilingsjust amazing! I got like a 14’ ish and fish for hours on it I do see where the ones that have the stupid tiny reels on the end would come in handy I rather have the compact version and move with the fish with a bit more line…
