So far, looks like it'll be great for insulin.
I moved, and the full-sized GE fridge in the new place froze my insulin, so I got paranoid, got a graphing temperature probe, fiddled with my thermostat, and got it bouncing between 37F and 45F. . . perfect for insulin, but the refrigerator spent most of its time above 40F -- generally terrible for perishable food, and if i nudged the thermometer lower, I'd risk freezing my insulin again. I grumbled about companies that still used mechanical thermostats in this day and age, and went looking on Amazon for a solution, and found this.According to my graph, this thing offers drastically more precise temperature control. I set it at 38, and it bounces between 36.1 and 39 -- perfect. With the shelf out, insulin pens fit just fine vertically. So, now, all it has to do is last. Fingers crossed.Update, 2021-11-28: The fridge has been struggling to maintain the temperature the last few months, and I've had to raise the temperature a bit to keep it from running continuously, which causes a ball of ice to form at the back of the fridge (oddly impressive). Today, however, the thermostat started reading 117F, which appears to have kept running it continuously. The temperature nosedived to 35.6F briefly, then crept up to 38 and more or less hung there, but if the thermostat isn't working, I can't use it. Just shy of a year's okay, I guess, but I remain a bit disappointed.

Bad sensor after 6 months, dead at 1 year
After 6 months temperature sensor started reading about 42 degrees high compared to normal. This unit has been set at 40 degrees and always holds between 39 and 42 on the display for 6 months. Today glanced over and it said 98 degrees. Opened door expecting hot interior and was cold as normally set. So since interior is running near 40 and display says it is 80 it will never shut off cooler. Luckly these thermoelectric type coolers only cool to about 35 to 40 degrees below the ambient room temperature and the room temperature it is placed in varies between 74 to 80 degrees. So in closing if the area you plan to place this cooler in is from the mind 70's up just expect the cooler to always be running. They are noisy with the stock fan as well. Where the Peltier unit mounts to back wall will frost up at least once a month and It only takes a few minutes with door open and unit off to defrost so that was not a big deal but just an observation. As it stands for this unit.... I would not trust it to keep food items at proper temperature to keep bacteria from forming. I only used it for drinks. Bacteria can thrive between 40 and 140 degrees. This cooler is borderline when placed in a 70 to 80 degree environment, use caution unless you have an iron gut.EDIT: Now at 1 year in there is a relay in the circuitry that you can hear clicking on and off several times an hour. At this point it is going in the trash.... I dont need the electronics in this thing to burn the house down. The cost of this thing is 1/3 the cost of a mini fridge that will hold 4 times as much and keep temp in the mid 30's FYI

Perfect for Medicine and cosmetics
This was purchased to keep prescription drugs in the recommend range. It has been working well. The unit is small and very quiet. The temperature controls are not as accurate as expected but does keep with a consistent range, once you figure out what that is. We place a remote temperature gauge in it so we can track it. This has been a good purchase and would recommend.

Lasted 2 years but worth it, for my purpose anyway
I used it at 50F to keep my lizards black soldier fly larvae from pupating. It was perfect for that purpose. I loved it. I'm still giving it 4 stars, even though it only lasted 2 years--it managed to save me hassle and money, regardless. In the end it started getting really hot, and that's when I retired it, so watch out for that. I would consider buying another if I can't find one with the same features.

The Good, the Not-so- Good, and the Ugly
The Good:• Quiet (much quieter than my ‘real’ refrigerator)• Consistently holds desired temperature in a narrow range (71 F. to 75 F. when set at 72 F.) o Good for USP Controlled Room Temperature of 68 F. to 77 F. needed for prescription medication.• All of the blue tinted interior walls are actively cooled, unlike a Freon-compressor refrigerator where cooling is provided by cold air blown-in through a port via an evaporator fan.• Excellent 3 + 1 year warranty• Nice looking with good fit and finish, with one exception. The Not-So-Good:• The exception is the gasket seal on the front door. It only seals along the left edge (where the latch is).o A small gap exists most everywhere else, apparently due to the plastic hinge being a bit too thick.• The door and white wall areas near the door are not actively cooled, just insulated.• Touch control buttons and display on door lack robustness:o Power button became dysfunctional after only 5 or 6 On: Off presses. Fortunately, it’s stuck On. The refrigerator can be powered off by unplugging it.o The display of a 72 F. temperature reading only worked for the first few days. Now the temperature display jumps from 73 to 71 when cooling-down, and 71 to 73 when gradually warming-up. All other temperature changes are displayed in one-degree increments. This same display jump persists even when the desired Set temperature is not 72 F.• Even with only a modest 5 to 10 degree difference in room temperature compared to a 72 F. desired Set temperature, the frig will continually power-on-cool, then power-off-coast-warm-up every 10 to 15 minutes. Inadequate insulation does not appear to be the main cause (see included charts). Heat gain through the backside seems to be the culprit. Because the heat-sink’s cooling fan shuts-off at the same time the thermoelectric chip powers-off, remaining thermal energy in the heat sink is allowed to soak through the back wall and into the refrigerator. This heat gain would be beneficially reduced if the heat-sink’s cooling fan continued to operate for a while after the thermoelectric chip powers-off. A discharge temperature of 99 F. was measured at the time when the fan turns-off. The temperature then climbed to 101 F. before slowly cooling down to 82 F. after about two minutes. These measurements were made by placing an immersion temperature probe into the air flow discharge grille.• Seller claims this mini-frig has a 6 L (liter) interior volume, but it does not. Using their own dimensions:o Main volume = 143 mm x 155 mm x 241 mm = 5,341,765 mm3 = 5.34 Literso Recess in door adds another 8 mm x 143 mm x 241 mm = 275,704 mm3 = 0.275 Liters• Therefore, total interior volume is 5.34 + 0.28 = 5.62 Liter. 5.6 Liters is not 6 Liter.o (Using the also provided English dimensions produces the same result.)The Ugly:• Twice in the User’s Manual, first in the Safety Information section, and then again in the Troubleshooting section, and also again in the label on the inside of the door, the manufacturer instructs:“Leave at least 2 inches of distance from the back and sides of the device to allow proper air circulation and heat dispersal.’’ Excluding 2 inches from the left side, right side and back side results in a much smaller usable volume. (2 in. x 2.54 mm/in = 50.8 mm)The 143 mm inside width becomes 143 mm – 50.8 [left side] - 50.8 [right side] = 41.4 mm The 155 mm inside depth becomes 155 mm – 50.8 = 105.8 mm So, The total usable volume is only: Main volume = 41.4 mm x 105.8 mm x 241 mm = 1,055,609 mm3 = 1.06 Liters Similarly, the recess in the door reduces to 8 mm x 41.4 mm x 241 mm = 79,819.2 mm3 = 0. 08 LitersTherefore, the actual usable volume is 1.06 + 0.08 = 1.14 LitersA 1.14 LITER USABLE VOLUME IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE CLAIMED 6 LITER VOLUME !!If a controlled temperature is important, then following the manufacturer’s instructions is also important. This 6 Liter, actually 5.6 Liter, actually 1.14 Liter usable mini-frig does not quite have the usable space to even hold 4 modest-sized pill bottles (see photos). With my purchase of this supposed ‘6 Liter’ mini-frig I had anticipated properly storing the four medication bottles shown in the photos as well as several other less temperature sensitive medications. But as the photos show, even the four bottles do not quite fit in the usable space. Of course, if this 6 Liter frig actually had a 6-liter volume a dozen or more bottles would easily fit.
