Be careful to read the size of the thermometers. I didn't, being in a hurry, and these are 12 inches long! they are excellent for deep frying and such but if you are planning on any type of use in a shorter pot, these may not be for you. They are really sturdy, have a movable marker to set on the temperature you want. The temperature increments are not really that easy to see or mark if you need to be precise.

I originally purchased these for myself however my son grabbed on of them because he makes candy a lot. We both love them because they clip onto the side of the pot you are using and they are easy to read. I have also used them to deep fry taquitos.

I like everything about this candy thermometer except the clip that holds it to the vessel in which you have the oil. If the vessel in which you are frying is not deep enough, then the probe will tend to move from an upright position and tilt one way or another.

This was a game changer for me. I tried making peanut brittle without a candy thermometer and it did not work. When I tried again with the thermometer it came out perfect! I highly recommended this product.

Works great good price

This thermometer was too flimsy to use . The clip would not hold tight enough to keep the thermometer in place. Not worth the effort, when better choices are available.

I received this thermometer and right away and decided to make peanut brittle. It stayed in place on the pot very nicely and was easy to see while the candy cooked. I did watch the temp and used the thread method dropped from a spoon to just get an idea about the temp guage. I cooked the candy on a med temp and when I tested for the candy thread, it was about 6 notches away from the temp it shoud read. Overall, I am pleased with this termometer. I recommend it to customers that would like to purchase it.

I believe it would do its work perfectly if you are using a deep pot, but it's just too long for my tiny pot (although you can hold it to a smaller pot by adjusting the clip, it would be a hazard if you knock off boiling oil bc of the dangling thermometer). Should have looked at the pictures more carefully, don't mistake inches by cm!

The clip on to pot did not work, the temperature was off all around not a good product, I threw mine out.
