Not on par with the previous books
I was anticipating this novel because I loved the previous two and I was curious to see what the deal with the son was. Unfortunately, his character was hard to like and the whole story line just seemed rushed at the end. I feel like the author really didn’t know how she wanted his story to go and tried to make it all tie together at the end to make the deadline. If you enjoyed the first two books and want to get closure on the son’s ghost experience, then read this book. Just go into reading it with low expectations. It did have its moments but was more for passing the time.

Perfect ending to trilogy!
I just finished this riveting, fascinating, heart-tugging, heart-pounding book. My emotions and thoughts are swirling...I want to weep and smile at the same time. Echo Moon is the perfect blend of past and present, spirits and humans, suspense, mystery, and romance, woven together in this spellbinding book. I read every chapter with anticipation and trepidation...I never knew, never came close to suspecting, what was going to happen next. I was so emotionally invested in this story and its incredible cast of characters, feeling their joys, their pains, their terrors, their hopes, their sadness, their love. If you haven’t done so already, read the first two books in this trilogy...Ghost Gifts and Foretold...before turning to the first page of this one. Laura Spinella, you are so gifted, your story-telling skills are dazzling, you always surprise me. And I’m so sad my time with Aubrey, Levi, and Pete is over...

The perfect finale
Having read the previous two novels in this series, I had anticipated the release of Echo Moon for months. Once it was released, I waited until I had a day to settle in and do nothing but read. It was a good decision on my part. I read the book in one day.Ms. Spinella has crafted a book that touches on many relationships: the love of mother and son, the father who wants to protect his son and his wife and the son who can no longer afford to avoid issues in his life. Of course, for Pete St. John it's not an easy task because his past life has begun to bleed into his present life with disturbing results. As always, the paranormal events are handled as an intrinsic part of the characters lives and not something that will make a reader roll their eyes. And the transitions between events in Pete's past life and his current life were never confusing. I was satisfied in the way all the threads from the two previous novels were woven through Echo Moon. I'm sorry to leave these characters behind but the hopeful ending left me with a smile on my face. I highly recommend this whole series to anyone who hasn't read it.

Different from the first two
I read this book right after Foretold and Ghost Gifts, so the family’s story was fresh in my mind. Though you could probably read Echo Moon as a standalone, I’m glad I read these in order. It helped to know the relevance of specific events and details. This story was very different from the first 2 in the series. I liked the way Aubrey interacted with ghosts through her gift, so it was a big change to see her son Pete resenting his abilities. While it’s a solid 4 stars for me, it wasn’t my favorite of the trilogy. A lot of the plot was based on Pete’s angsty bad attitude. Some basic threads from the earlier books were tied together nicely at the end of Echo Moon, which I appreciated. These books have been on my wishlist for a while, and I’m glad that I finally got to read them. There are still many unanswered questions that I’d love to see in a novella (or five.) For example, exactly what happened when Aubrey got those scars? As mentioned, I’d love to see more books in this series. Ghost stories are my favorite, and this was just about perfection for me.

Brilliantly crafted
Peter St. John is a tortured soul. Unable to escape violent memories of a past life, he shuts himself away from those who love him, instead pursuing a death-wish life. One person he can’t escape is the love of his life, Esme. Unfortunately, she lived in his past life one hundred years earlier, and his memory of what he did to her haunts him as much as she does.Ms. Spinella juxtaposes elements in Echo Moon to create a dazzling effect of unbalance: the grit and gore of war against the garish pleasure of Coney Island; tortured Peter against Bohemian Ailish, the ethereal nature of ghost gifts to the stark reality of photographs. The structure of this story is brilliant. We watch Peter in current times while the story of his past life is unveiled through Esme’s eyes—her echo of their love story. As his agony unfolds, she steps in to fill in the gaps, and the twist at the end will take your breath away.Echo Moon can be read as a stand-alone, but what a delight to read the trilogy from Ghost Gifts through Foretold to Echo Moon. Ms. Spinella leads the reader through the twists and turns of both Aubrey’s and Peter’s lives and their struggles with their psychic powers. Her intricate weaving of plot and relationships is intriguing. This third book satisfies the reader as it ties up loose ends from all three books. If you’re looking for a book—or a trilogy—that will keep you turning pages, this series is for you.

Book 3
This is Pete's story, or rather Pete's and Phin's.As with the past two stories, this is i the present and the past. Pete's life even before the age of 12 was full of monsters, it became even worse. War torn countries were his escape, photography his shield. An incredible story that is full of angst, dread, love and mystery.Highly recommend this series!

Great story
It took a couple of goes to get into this book. Then suddenly wow I couldn't put it down. I loved the first two Ghost Gifts books and so wanted to love this one. It had lots of twists and turns and every time I thought I had worked things out, wham, another twist. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Not as good as the previous two books
I'm obviously in a minority here but I didn't take to this as much. I found the flashbacks to the past long winded and too long. I prefer the original characters and we didn't get enough of them. Clever concept though and it hasn't put me off this author.

Wonderful story
I loved the first two books of this trilogy and this was a wonderful story with which to end it.It is beautifully written and I couldn't put it down. I am sad though that there will be no more books with these characters in them.

A haunting read.
This book in particular will stay in my thoughts. A twisting narrative between two characters separated by time but connected in spirit. Phin and Esmarelda or Pete and Emerald. The story line draws you along at a fast pace.
