Fender Ultra Noiseless Vintage Stratocaster Pickups

Say what you will about the recent "Standard" line, Fender still makes good stuff. I have a Player Plus HSS with noiseless pickups, and when I bought a new strat from Firefly it was a great guitar (Fender, you should take notes from Firefly) and while the pickups it came with sounded nice, I really liked the Noiseless Pickups in my Player Plus and wanted a strat with Triple stacked humbuckers since I already had a std. 2020 Player with regular SSS Alinco single coils.This new set in the Firefly round out my strat sound collection. Easy to install, No issues with fitting them or how they work. While pricey? They are high quality and worth it if you're looking for some noiseless pickups that are about 85% of what regular single coils should be (but quiet)...Recommended.

I bought these mainly for the taller height (the pickups are easily 20% taller than standard) but totally amazed with the quality all the way around. Very nice pickups and the sound is ultra clear and vintage like.I will be looking at more of these ULTRA Noiseless Vintage for my other guitars.

This rating applies to the install only and will review pickups later., but as for the install, it’s been somewhat of a challenge. I know, they recommend a louthier but even so, for those think it’s simple simple stuff stuff, it’s not and requires some invasive modifying.The spring loaded screws needed to secure and adjust height of pickups r/t the pick guard are 1) smaller than the stock one’s being replaced and 2) not even included. WHY?! Had to ID the screw size and hunt those down. Don’t lose your springs. Kinda important 3) all 3 pickups require a deeper cavity than the existing cavity for stock pickups, therefore had to use a router which I’m still learning how to use and no expert. So, to deepen the cavity with the same pattern, I had to buy a straight 1/4” router bit with a ‘bottom bearing’ which is located at the top of the bit if you’re cutting down into the cavity. The bearing serves as a roller guide that rolls along the contours of existing opening and serves as a template guide preventing you from cutting beyond the existing perimeter while allowing you to cut deeper, which in this case, was another quarter inch to accommodate the deeper pick up .So, with some reservations I finally committed to the mod, but not happy about having to shave off the numbers and pressed-in Schecter logo imprinted inside the neck pickup cavity. So much for provenance. It doesn’t end there, get out the soldering iron and 3-d skill set to follow the schematic of convoluted wiring diagram from the backside of pickguar POV. I tried to avoid all this but the ocal louthier doesn’t do routering.

These sound great. Nice and smooth. Not as much quack and burp as the SD California 50's set, but then again, these are super quiet. Not as nice as the EMG DG20 set, but still really nice, vintage sound.I replaced a set of stock Fender pickups in a Guitar Center showcase model with the push pull...sounds MUCH better. Much quieter.

Installed by certified technician and tech found out bridge pick up did not workBasically dead on arrivalSuspect these were used because only one of them had the protective film over them and the others stuck in random places of the packaging

The pickups sound amazing but two of the screws broke in half under normal pressure while screwing in the pickups. It as an absolute nightmare to get half of a screw out of a hole so I definitely recommend ordering different ones. Highly recommend the pickups themselves.
