Q: Is this comparable to the leupold?

I can only answer the question as asked. I think I might be able to infer that you are asking this question because a specific Leupold scope is rated highly for use with the 450. This BSA model is too new for any review info. The difference would be that the BSA is caliber specific, with 3 different turrets for 3 different bullet weights. The Leopold does not have this feature. I zeroed mine at 100 yards. The range that I was at didn't give me the opportunity to see if the bullet drop compensation feature would work at moving the turret to 200 yards with a dead on hold at 200 etc. I put 20 rounds on target. The scope was consistent, held up, reticle was clear, turrets felt solid, and there was no issues. Most people would say you get what you pay for. The BSA is a 3rd of the price. I'm happy with it. The 450 is not a sniper round. If this scope holds up, I wouldn't see the need to pay the extra money, especially when many people are using rifles with a 16" barrel. I did go with a 20" in my configuration. I have considered the Vortex hog scope as a possible upgrade because of the illuminated center dot which is good for low light conditions as well as my old eyes. Again, I gave this scope a try because of the price. So far, so good. I'm confident enough to hunt with it this year. I hope this helps in your decision; however, I think it is probably an apples and oranges comparison.
