Combined Review of Fig Preserves and Strawberry Preserves
Ah, it won't let me review products separately. Two orders, two varieties.Fig Preserves: You worry about food in glass jars but the shipment from Andros North America came securely packed. The fig preserves are high quality with chunks of fig. I'm now ordering Boney Mama (whatever) Strawberry Preserves from the same seller.Strawberry Preserves: Compare the ingredient list to lesser products:Strawberries (We're talking whole strawberries here, not something for a thin coating)Sugar, Brown Cane Sugar (well, what were you expecting?)Concentrated Lemon JuiceFruit Pectin (it's for gelling, from citrus fruits)That's it. Oh, it tastes darn good.Again, very securely packed from seller Andros North America.

Delicious homemade preserves.
These preserves are delicious! My mother had a fig tree in our backyard and she canned her own fig preserves. These are exactly what I had hoped for in taste and texture. I have already placed a second order.

Excellent preserves, but poor/leaky packaging
We really like Bonnie Maman preserves and use the apricot preserves to make a glaze for chicken. We usually order a box of 6 jars to ensure we’ve got some in the pantry whenever we want them. We’ve never had a problem until last week. One of the six jars had a loose lid and the preserves had leaked out. The other five jars were fine, however, this one jar should never have gotten through Quality Control. Beyond the fact that our order was short (because we had to throw the leaky jar away), there’s the issue of potential food poisoning. There was no return option, since it’s a food item. In fact, we couldn’t even get past the first step in the return process. Amazon should allow an exception for returns on food items in situations like ours, especially since other customers have also reported this problem. This is the first time we’ve encountered this type of poor quality control, but we’ll be sure to post reviews if it occurs in the future.
