Fantasy: An Artist's Realm

A wonderful work done from the heart. A great primer for fantasy characters and types without being a part of any particular fantastical universe. The writing and illustration are both done with an extraordinary amount of passion and talent for the subject. A passion I can attest, was life long. I was childhood friends with the author and he was always drawing and imagining fantastical creatures and devouring fantasy novels and games. His innate artistic and creative ability shines in this book and its companion; Swords: An Artist's Devotion.

What struck me most about this book was that the cover art is by no means the most extraordinary illustration it includes. From one page to the next, this beautifully laid-out book never fails to disappoint. In the right hands, I feel this is the sort of book whose concepts will inspire even greater concepts, whose art will inspire even greater art. It delights the imagination.

I'm starting a Harry Potter and fantasy club. I ordered this product to use in that club. The club is for children ages 5-17. The seller was excellent. Everything arrived on time and for the cost we go more than we expected. The kids love this item.

Great art work. Sad Mr. Boos is gone!

My son had borrowed this from the school library and loved it. He's interested in all the medieval stuff, and the drawings are so cool. I got it for him for xmas and he was very pleased.

My son found out about this book through a show and tell at school. I bought it for him and now it's his favorite book. He also loves to use the pictures to inspire him in his drawings.

My son has another one of Ben Boos' books about swords and when I saw this I thought he'd like it. He LOVES the artwork and Mr. Boos' descriptions. I also enjoyed sitting down with my son to discover what was inside this fantasy book.I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this to anyone with kids who already love fantasy or anyone trying to 'hook' their kids on fantasy.
