I loved the whole series. The idea of chimeras vs. angels was great. I love the twists and turns of the story and the narrator, Khristine Hvam really nailed it, in my opinion. It was full of action, and heartbreak and laughter. These books instantly made me want to read everything else by this author. Definitely a must read.

I’ve been a heavy reader since I was about 14, and YET…I’d never read YA fantasy. I’ve read a LOT of YA fantasy since this series, and it’s one of my favorites still. I wouldn’t say it’s high fantasy, at least not compared to some of the books I’ve read such as Daughter of the Moon Goddess or Blood Mercy, but the story is very engaging and the characters are so lovable. The last book in the series was the only one I was annoyed by, as the author brought in additional characters that could have seemingly been left out, and they took up many chapters. But for me overall, this series is incredibly memorable and was the catalyst for the YA fantasy world that I love exploring to this day at 26 years old.

The stories are fantastic and would give them 5/5. However, the print on these books is very faint and difficult to read without a lot of light. I ended up buying them individually from a shop instead and the print in those was fine. Great author, amazing stories, just the print quality was poor in this trilogy set.
