It's physics, folks. Billions of tiny bubbles popping at the same time causes an avalanche of force -- but on a microscopic level. Besides what's going on beneath the gums (breaking away calculus below the gumline), the stuff on your teeth that makes them look dingy (hiding the white enamel) gets sonically blasted away -- again, on a microscopic level.Whether adding the word "Whitening" to the tube of Emmi-dent toothpaste is just another marketing trick to get me to buy a "whitening toothpaste," I fell for it. The whitening effect really works. The other varieties (flavors) of Emmi-dent toothpaste still make my teeth clean and feeling smooth. No doubt about that.But something in the formulation of the "whitening" variety actually made my teeth visibly whiter.The paste is white with a blue ribbon of gel. That's new. The paste was also plain white. Perhaps the blue gel is what freshens the mouth. I don't know. But it sure tastes good and leaves my mouth so clean and fresh.
