Tile Starter Pack (2020) 2-pack (1 Mate, 1 Slim) - Discontinued by Manufacturer

I've used tiles for a few years now. I consider them to be a vital product, because I can be somewhat forgetful, and lose track of small (or even not so small) objects. So the ability to find your keys, or wallet, or purse or whatever, is a tremendous help.The way it works is pretty cool, you put a tile on your object that you are worried about losing, and then you load the tile app on your phone. Your phone periodically monitors your tile objects and keeps track of them. Then when you tell the app to locate your object, it will try to connect to it via bluetooth. If it is able to connect, it does, and it plays a sound, helping you locate it. If it can't connect, it shows you where (on a map) it was last able to connect to it, so for example if you left it at work, and you are now at home, you'll know that you left it at work. Pretty neat!That said, this product has definitely gotten worse this year. Now when you try to locate an object that you've had in your possession, say earlier in the day, and it's not nearby and you try to locate it, it'll tell you about where it was a month ago or some such. It's essentially worthless now for what was a really useful use case. It's now still very useful for locating things that are nearby, but if it's not nearby, it's no longer helpful imo.

Ordered to use with his and hers keys and iphone. Tried valiantly to set up with instructions on app, then chatted with customer support for an hour. No relief. They are either defective or the setup is beyond my capacity.(I am a graduate engineer, somewhat computer savvy and usually able to make stuff like this work)Unsatisfactory product.

I bought these tiles in a four pack expecting that I could use them like a GPS tracker. All I found was once you’re disconnected from your phone it’s gone. If you lose your keys in public and have no clue where to start looking you will never find them. If you’re looking for a GPS tracking device, this is not it

Bought two packages since overall reviews seemed good. I figured I would beat the odds. The first box I opened, the second tracker I tried to program didn’t work at all! The second box all of the trackers seemed to work until today. One day later. One of our car keys had been missing, I finally found it and went to put it on the tracker that formerly had worked. Now it no longer works at all! No sound comes out of it at all, it won’t be found by my phone, it won’t try to find my phone. How long until the other trackers lose their charge and they are brand new? The other 6 are still working great, however. I love that you can name them and take pictures as each one has a different house key assigned to help keep track as well.

I have purchased Tile Mates twice previously, but this was my first experience with Slims.I use Tile Mates in a number of places including, but not limited to,*kids' backpacks & activity bags (dance, sports, scouts, etc.)*my purse and other bags*my laptop bag*suitcases*keysI started using these new Tile Slims for my wallet and laptop bag. The Slim has the exact dimensions of a credit card, but is ~2x thicker. The edges are beveled, so it can slide into tight spots. I have a streamlined wallet especially designed to be thin and was pleased to find that the Tile Slim hardly added any bulk. (I used it in a different pocket, but it fits perfectly into a card holder. I had previously used a Tile Mate in my laptop bag, but like the option of slotting the Slim into a card slot instead so that the Tile isn't floating around.I most frequently ring the Tiles when I am looking for my kids' backpacks. I was surprised to find how much I liked the Slim and definitely plan to order more in the future!

I was looking forward to trying out Tile for the first time, but was sorely disappointed. I bought a 4-pack of Tile Mate (2020)'s on sale at Amazon for $39.99. Regrettably, they just don't work very well at all.1. It can often take up to 30 seconds after you initiate a find for the unit to start making noise. Sometimes, the screen on your phone will say that it is "connecting" and at other times, it will claim that the Tile is connected and making noise, but it isn't.2. As you walk towards the noise, the tile will randomly stop making noise for some reason. Within 15 to 30 seconds, your phone will indicated that the Tile has disconnected, and then it will start the connection process over again.3. If you try to change the ringtone, when you go to click save, the app will indicate that the Tile has disconnected, even though the tile is right next to your phone. Alternatively, it will proclaim that there is a software update, and it will sit at 0% completed forever.3. Tech support seems intent upon wasting my time. I explained that I was having trouble with the first two tiles that I activated, and tech support responded by asking a number of useless questions and then offering solutions to problems that I never reported.For example, I explained that the two units that I had activated were not working, and asked if there was a way to update the firmware on the units. They replied by offering to replace the two units that I have NOT activated. Then they offered to delete the two that I had activated but which weren't working very well, and warned me that deletion was permanent. Next they told me that it was impossible to reboot the units. When I asked how to get the software update on the Tile unit to complete, they told me that there was no such thing as software updates for the Tiles.None of these messages was in any way responsive to my concerns, nor offered me any useful advice on how to resolve the problems.It appears that the root of all these problems is that the Tiles constantly disconnect from the app. I was unable to determine why this happens, and Tile Support never really got to that issue. They just kept asking me irrelevant questions.

Seemed to barely work then stopped working in less than a month. So unimpressed.

I've had RF key finders for a few years and they've got me out of many a predicament. So when the last ones stopped working, I decided to go up a notch and bought the 4pack tile mate. Barely audible unless the speaker is face up and very poor range - pretty much need to be in the same room. Right now I'm looking at my dog 10 feet away through a pane of glass and it can't find the tile around his neck!! If you need to find keys in your own house like I do, then just go with a well recommended RF key finder instead. Much better range, much louder, much cheaper. And while the Tile may have some utility for lost kids or pets in a maojr urban centre, my experience in a mid-size town is the tiles are invisible once out of bluetooth range..

It's only useful if the thing you have lost is in your house, if you lose anything in the rest of the world it's pretty useless, no GPS, no ability to find your item on a map outside of Bluetooth range. Tried it out in Central London no one with another tile walked past it at all. So no chance of retrieving anything lost in the city. Does not remember the location if your Bluetooth is turned off on your phone which can drain the battery. Overall a bit of a waste of money.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Let me tell you what the product description and reviews doesn't tell you:- This is supposed to be a Bluetooth tracker, yet you need to enable location on your phone full time or it won't work.- 90% of the time it gets stuck at "Connecting.." then when clicking on it you get an other "hold on few seconds" that turns into minutes every time you need to find your keys!!!!- Alexa never works !! Always says "I can't connect" or "Bluetooth must be turned on".- This thing doesn't do the one thing it's design to do; which is finding my keys !!- Cheaply made of flimsy plastic- And yes the tracker is within the 60 meters range.One of the worst and expensive gadgets so far and this has been returned the next day.

These do not work do not purchase as they say 200 meters but my cat was 15 feet away from me and it was out of range what a waste of my money

These tiles just do not work unless you are right next to them. If your keys wallet or phone is in a different room its completely useless. You have to walk around scanning. My phone was behind a sofa cushion and it wouldn't connect from my key fob. I bought these as I'm always loosing my keys but I'm bitterly disappointed with this purchase. You know that gadget you show your friends and it never works when you show them.. thats this. But all the time
