Beautiful Christmas Stockings!
Donna Kooler is absolutely my most favorite cross-stitch pattern designer. This book contains some of her best ideas yet. I am going to start with the "Snowglobe" pattern simply because I paged thru the book with my eyes closed and that's the one I landed on! This one is going to be for my oldest niece and it's a toss up between "Winter Fun on Ice" or "Curious Cats" for my younger niece. Donna's patterns have the easiest dirctions and graphs to work with. The *only* problem I have with this book is that the patterns are not in color. All of her other books that I have (4 total) all have the color coded graphs to follow and it makes stitching so much easier because #1-You know what color you are looking for and #2-I find it easier to count how many stitches I have to do. Bottom line is, I LOVE Donna Koolers designs and those projects always turn out beautiful! KUDOS to KOOLER!

Lovely book for cross stitch Xmas stockings
This cross stitch book is very nice and has easy to understand color instructions. My only disappointment is that since I could not see inside at all the available patterns to make, this book did not have what I personally was looking for. There are mostly snowy winter scenes; not quite appropriate for a child's Christmas stocking in sunny CA where the winter is only about 50 degrees, and snow an extreme rarity! This in no way should deter you from a purchase, as the designs are very beautiful, and the print is large enough to use during your project. Some very nice teen or adult patterns in here also.

Disappointed
I was spoiled by working from, "The Stockings Were Hung," for the past ten years. The patterns in this book by Donna Kooler are dated and much too person-specific and yet generic at the same time. I am in my midthirties and have six young children. We don't have any cats or dogs (allergies). I am not a fan of teddy bear or cartoonish motifs. That describes most of the designs. There are some fun designs like the fisherman Santa (wish my grandpa was still alive), gardening Santa, and crafting design. However, the family and traditional Santa themed patterns just aren't as nice as similar patterns in "The Stockings Were Hung."There are a few designs I might use: the crafter's stocking (perfect for my mother), welcome to my garden (although I'd need to redesign to remove the cats), bygone days (very lovely), and 'twas the night before Christmas (need to redesign to remove the cat and dog).In the end, I wish I'd saved my money and bought more expensive better quality individual designs.

Beautiful & Varied Designs
Received book today and can't wait to get started stitching. Will have a new grandaughter this year & she will have a spectacular stocking. The variety is great & they are quality designs. Probably will stitch the snow globes stocking. It is beautiful and different. The pattern is large enough for older eyes to see.

Good Buy
Book arrived in excellent/new condition in a matter of a few days, and the price was unbeatable (half that of most other sites). The only downside to the patterns is that there is no option to "flip" the pics if you want your stocking to have the toe on the left instead of the right. Pretty simple fix with a copy machine, but would have been nice to have the option included. Great find at a great price!

This is one of the best collections of stocking patterns I've found
This is one of the best collections of stocking patterns I've found! I have been counted cross stitching or needlepointing stockings for my grandkids, and this book will be used for many of these treasures! Used? Came in perfect, like-new condition! Thank you!

'Speciality' stockings
I bought this book at the same time as Donna Kooler's Second Edition Stocking Collection as I couldn't really tell from the site which book would be better. The Ultimate Stocking Collection has fifteen 14 count patterns and I have completed one for my little grandson and plan to do another. However many of the designs in this book celebrate particular hobbies and interests which wasn't apparent straight away. A stocking for anglers(!), another for a gardeners, one for dogs, another for cats and one for stitchers....things that I personally wouldn't use at all but would be perfect if those are your interests! Hence my reason for giving this 4*Very good value getting so many designs in one book.Tip: photocopy the 4 pages and assemble the pattern as trying to work directly from the book will drive you mad!

but they all look brilliant and I can't wait to get started
I was given book 2 as a gift, so decided to treat myself to this one. There are a lot of designs in this book. Some of them are quite complex, but they all look brilliant and I can't wait to get started.
