Purrrfect!!!
As a teenage girl who loves puzzles, I absolutely love Calico! The game pieces are bright and colorful, the cat pictures are adorable, and the idea is very unique. If you like challenging your brain, I would definitely recommend-but if you don't, there are so many other ways to play. The age I would recommend is probably around 10 and up, but if it is to hard, you can simplify it by playing a different variant. Additionally, Calico is not only a multiplayer game, but can be played solo as well. It is not very competitive either because everyone is focused on their own board. The quality of the tiles and board is amazing, and the artwork is too. The instructions are easy to understand, and include a place to mark your achievements as well. The value you get from this game is definitely worth the price tag. The strategy that goes into playing is slightly difficult, but once again, you can simplify it. All together, Calico is a brilliant, well-designed, puzzle game that is fun and (though difficult) is worth your time.

SO CUTE AND FUN TO PLAY!
This game can be surprisingly challenging but is so much fun to play. It involves strategy and analysis but you are able to compete with yourself to achieve personal bests. The boards and pieces are thick and well made but not too heavy. The kitties are adorable and the colors of the boards and pieces are pleasing. Altogether they did a great job with this game. It should be satisfying for most ages. It can be played quite competitively or somewhat cooperatively depending on how flexible with the rules you like to play. I recommend it.

If you love cats, buy this game!
This is such a beautiful game. The pieces are very good quality and so colorful. The game play is a lot of fun and gives you a lot of options. You can make it more difficult or easy depending on how you feel that day. I highly recommend this game. It is worth every penny!

Cats and Quilts-what fun!
A great game! Several methods of winning, enough strategy to keep you motivated without being too overwhelmed. The production quality is superb and quite a value for the cost. Easy enough to teach. The speed of the game can be brought down by new players but most games with strategy are. I wish there was a game insert to hold all the numerous pieces but that may increase the cost. I purchased Bits & Bins containers to hold the pieces. Highly recommended!

we love this game!
This game is really cute and fun. We bought it for our daughter's 12th birthday. She loves cats and we adopted a kitten earlier this year so she was excited about this game. I think the age range of 10+ is definitely accurate. There is definitely a lot of thinking and planning involved. At 12 my daughter was able to engage with it fine but I think it would be hard for young kids even though it's really cute. It's not easy but it's fun. My daughter likes to name the cats she earns and it's fun to play together. We haven't tried any of the harder ways to play yet but I believe there are different ways to play. We've played multiple times since getting it and it's quickly becoming a favorite.

We LOVE this game!!!
I bought this game for my boyfriend for Christmas because it had a cat on the box :) little did I know it would become our absolute favorite game, and that is saying a lot, because we seriously have A LOT of games! This game checks so many boxes for us, it is the perfect amount of difficulty for our brains, there are so many various ways it can be played, plus it is so cute! It can be played in a way for kids to enjoy, but also has the potential to be extremely challenging for advanced gamers. The rule book includes multiple different game play suggestions and challenges to complete, it even has additional rules you can implement to switch up the playing style. We have been having weekly Calico game nights since January (its May as I write this) and we have no signs of getting bored of it, there are still so many ways it can be played that we haven't tried yet. I recently sent it to my brother and sister-in-law as a house warming gift because we adore it so much. If you love challenging strategy style board games (like Catan - but better!) that are different every time you play them, this is a great game for you.

Challenging game. Works with two players.
It's hard to find games that work well for two players but Calico does it well. Each player has their own board so there's not a lot of in-your-face gameplay. The biggest source of getting in each others way comes in the taking of tile pieces from the common pool. This game is a very tight puzzle that feels like a vice closing in on your from the very first move. As space fills up your choices go from good to not-so-good to whatever's the least worst tile to take. I only wish there were more objective tiles and more cat achievement cards. The theme doesn't really make sense to me because the cat on the box cover looks so relaxed and cozy but this game is anything but. Very enjoyable.

Box size could be improved
Pros:1. Simple and quick setup.2. Game time is relatively short. 45 minutes for 2 players.3. Multiple competing design objectives allow for alternative strategies leading to similar scores.Cons:1. The box is not large enough.
