Alsaid Bayomy Professional Egyptian Kawala Flute 25.54" (C Rast)

This is not an instrument. This is for display only. The holes are spaced out so far apart that it’s impossible to use. I’ll be returning this once I get a box for it, I threw away the original box. A waste of money. I was so disappointed because I bought it as a gift for my husband but when he explained why he can’t play it, it all made sense. This is not a musical instrument. It is impossible to get your three fingers on the holes.

Disclaimer: this is my first kawala/ney type flute, so I cannot really compare it to other nay or kawala flutes.I ordered this and was contacted promptly by the seller that the product had a defect. They asked if I wanted a refund or if I wanted to wait for a new shipment from Egypt. Of course, I opted to wait, so they expedited a kawala flute to me when it came in.For those who don't know, this instrument is made from a reed and is extremely lightweight. Extra care was taken in the packaging so that no damage was dealt during shipment. I was pleased with the effort taken to protect the kawala.As I quickly discovered, initially making actual notes on a ney or kawala flute is the hardest part. Fortunately, some great tutorials exist that can give a first-time nay player a great boost.
