Special FX All-Pro Makeup Kit

Our daughter is exploring art at a rapid pace, each medium is being studied and left on the floor only to be picked up and studied some more as she voraciously gobbles up knowledge and first hand experience. No youtube video is safe, nor are her mother's cotton balls. This kit was the perfect beginning to our girl's exploration of theatrical and sfx makeup. She watched a program on tv with her grandmother and expressed an interest. Now she goes around the house with bloody gashes on her arm and fingers that sport an extra long tip. Her eyes look like Judy Garland's after a weekend at Tahoe. Buy it. It's great and the quantities are generous.

I was a little nervous about buying this make up kit especially with the mixed reviews. My daughter has recently become interested in playing around with special effects make up and she requested purchase this kit to help her explore her hobby. We are very happy. The kit is basic but has a lot of variety in products that will allow for a wide variety of looks. There are adhesives, make up, brushes, guide books and more. The quality certainly isn't professional grade but it also isn't cheap like the make up kits you find in retail stores around Halloween. I think this is a great kit for those interested in playing around with special effects make up that wish to have a variety of products but not wanting to pay professional grade prices. I am including some photos of the kit and some photos of make up my 14 year old did using the kit.

I purchased this kit for my 11 year old son, who is a gifted artist and has taken an interest in creating videos and movies with himself in the staring roles. In the past, he has made do in creating his characters (ranging from old men to green deep sea creatures) by using Halloween pan makeup and old costumes, and raiding my very expensive cosmetics. When I saw this kit, it was a no-brainer, and he received it a few days ago for Christmas. To say that this was the best gift of Christmas is an understatement! He's been locked in our bathroom for four days, trying out all of the techniques in the kit on both himself and the dummy, with extremely little assistance from me (really, the most he has asked for is help opening a couple of the bottles!). He has totally recreated the special effects shown on the box and in the instructions on his own, and has gotten very good at it in a short period of time. The dummy does stain a bit, but it's really inconsequential and it's great for when my son wants to give his own face a break! The products themselves may seem small, but a little goes a long way. The bottle of liquid latex is actually quite substantial - many zombie faces later, he still has 3/4 of the bottle left. The products also clean up pretty easily both off his face and off the dummy, and so far (after spending 72 hours essentially in this stuff), the products do not seem to irritate my son's skin. If you have a creative kid interested in special effects makeup, this kit is fabulous.

I bought this for my daughter to practice her makeup and effects, she's an aspiring special FX makeup artist. This kit came exactly as described, everything was shrink wrapped and looked really top notch. Everything she needed to get started was included, we didn't have to purchase any additional items. My daughter says that this is a really well known company for special effect products, now I see why. I would recommend this kit to anyone that might be on the fence about it. Since we gave this to my daughter for Christmas, we have bought several more Myron products for her to add to her collection. The products are a little pricey, but I feel that you really get what you're paying for with every item, we have yet to be disappointed...

This kit is great and includes a variety of different mediums. Because of this kit, I have been able to practice methods I haven’t been able to try! My only complaint, is that I wish there had been a packet with the description of each item in the box, and a “how to apply”. One tool I think the box could have included is a small steel spatula. I ended up just using a butter knife but if the kit had included that, it would have made wax applications easier! I’m looking forward to purchasing other items from this brand. I think a great way this brand could sell more, is if inside the $100 kit was a promo for products on their website. I know I would use it even if it was just for free shipping. It would be a great initiative to get beginning sfx people to continue this brand!

Easy to use. The only thing I don’t get is what that piece of hair is supposed to be used for and I try to figure out what it supposed to be used for and I couldn’t figure it out but other than that, this is the best kit you could get if you want to get into makeup effects definitely teaches you the beginners guide to stuff. I do wish they had a little more instructions on usage of the stuff or maybe I mean they do have the YouTube thing so they do have it.

Exactly as described and is a very good starter kit. To address the reviews claiming the 3D gel arrived "all dried up" or "unusable because it's all solid," the 3D gel is at room temperature and is in a solid gel form. The instructions on the bottle clearly state to heat the bottle in hot water to liquefy the gel so you can use it. So, don't let that deter you from buying this product as it is supposed to be solid in the bottle. Good thing it stays solid at room and body temperature too or it would melt all over your face :-P

This product is so cool my daughter has been doing all kinds of looks with it. She's very into this kind of stuff and it looks so professional has liquid latex in the set I believe!

El kit viene muy completo si lo quieres para uso individual, es demasiado caro para lo que contiene pues son todas las versiones miniatura de los productos de mheron, y buscando en la página oficial en México noté que pude haberme gastado casi lo mismo con productos más grandes, así que no no vale la pena el gasto, mejor vayan directo a Mehron

My grandkids, who love Halloween and dressing up, have thoroughly enjoyed this makeup kit. They've created some pretty impressive faces that look like they were done by a professional. Very good quality and results.

Wenn man alles, was in diesem Starter Kit enthalten ist einzeln kaufen würde, würde man mindestens das doppelte bezahlen. Es sind sehr viele verschiedene Sachen enthalten. Vor allem die Farben sind super und halten sehr gut. Allerdings gebe ich nur 4 Sterne, da recht wenig von den verschiedenen Materielien enthalten ist. Es ist zwar von allem ein bisschen was dabei. Aber es sind eben sehr kleine Fläschchen. Sehr gut zum experimentieren und ausprobieren. Vor allem die verschiedenen Kunstblute finde ich super. Alle Materialien riechen ziemlich übel. Der Gestank verfliegt aber sobald es getrocknet ist. Vor allem von dem Liquid Latex werde ich mehr kaufen. Das Zeug ist definitiv das Beste und unverzichtbar für SFX Make-Up! Im großen und ganzen aber sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man mal alles ausprobieren möchte.

Bought for my 13 year old along with the practice head in an effort to stop her putting gory makeup all over herself! Fantastic starter set, easy to use and bought along side a couple of sfx books. Only fault was the 3d Gel which was dried up and we couldn't get it out if the bottle but a quick chat with Amazon and the price of a bottle was refunded in vouchers so that we could purchase separately- amazing customer service as usual!
