Team Honey Badger: Raising Fearless Kids in a Cowardly World

Raising my own Honey Badger
Being a Student Of The Gun, and the parent of a nine y/o girl, I had to read this book. If you are a regular listener to his radio show, viewer of his TV show, or subscriber to SOTG blogs and newsletters, you know that Professor Paul loves his country, and invests in raising up a generation of kids, who possess mental & physical strength, moral conviction, and will "take our country back" from the rot and decay which passes as "normal" in our society. A generation of young adults have been coddled, have never had to work for anything, have never had to compete for anything, and have been taught that personal comfort and their self-esteem are what matters most. We see the results on college campuses these days: Young adults, lacking in life-experiences and the wisdom earned from them, are demanding an environment free from offense, "intimacy contracts", and other such nonsense, and the soft, academic class continues to indulge this nonsense.Professor Paul has nailed the root-cause of this weakness, and provides a "quick-start" guide to addressing the problem. A Marine, Paul embraces the maxim "brevity breeds clarity". He wastes no words on extraneous thoughts. If you are a parent, would like to be a parent, or are otherwise involved with shaping the character of American youth, I would highly recommend investing the few dollars and 1 hour it will take to purchase and read this book.

Your head in the game, your kids on the right track!
This is a must read in today's world. It is by no means politically correct (I'm very glad for that), & I know the subject matter will make a lot of people pretty butt-hurt because it's not your typical parenting book, but it's information parents need to know nonetheless! There are techniques in here that may be altered depending on where you live (some areas lack a 4-H program or access to farmwork as is mentioned in the book) but you adjust and adapt. Isn't that what we as parents, and Honeybadgers in nature, do on a daily basis anyways? This book is short and concise, unlike this review, and full of information on how to raise kids who will grow to be responsible, productive, and respectful adults. Children who can face their lives without fear and handle all that comes their way with kindness and love but the ability to be ruthless and aggressive if the situation calls for it. I loved the way Prof. Paul G Markel weaved in personal anecdotes of raising his own children who are now adults. These reasons are obviously why it has SHOT to the top of the Amazon category for parenting/child development books.

Markel - hats off to you for writing an excellent book on parenting
This is a book that I wish I could have read 20 years ago. My children are now young adults and it's much more difficult to influence them now, but I'm still hoping to instill some of things I've taken from this book in my children and some day in my grand children. Mr. Markel is no Dr. Spock, and he's no Dr. Seus. However, our world today needs more parents who have the philosophy and mindset of Mr. Markel. Our nation, and our world, needs more parents who will let their children explore the world and become fearless. We need fewer adults who instill fear in their children, locking them away from unstructured play and making them afraid to even go to the park to play for an hour. Mr. Markel - hats off to you for writing an excellent book on parenting.

Relevant Book for relevant times...
As a follower of Professor Paul Markel via his social media and podcast, I was immediately excited at the announcement for the release of this book. While I continuously strive for more and more knowledge, I find that in nearly every case I fall asleep when I try to read a book. Team Honey Badger is one of less than one dozen books I have read from cover to cover for pure enjoyment/interest. As a veteran, and someone whom has worn a uniform in some capacity all my life, I find this book in tune with how I wish my child to be, confident, kind, selfless, and when need be... Fearless. This is a book that even if you walked away with just one thing more, it was worth the price.

Earned NOT Given
This book is a great read and inspirers you to take action. You will see the need to raise up children to be strong, tough, and mental prepared to lead a life of self respect, self worth, self reliance, and to be respectful to others, to have critical thinking skills, and be able to stand up for themselves and others, to not be easily deceived, and to form their own opinions. Our country needs our next generation to be a generation of people that will take responsibility for themselves and not blame others for current issues, but to do something about it.

Great advice for raising kids.
Paul offers good, realistic and often deleted info about how to raise your children in this day and age. The lessons are timeless yet often neglected in this nanny state of affairs we find ourselves in today. RTFO and teach your children to be proud Americans.

Skills and examples to teach children
This was an excellent and easy read!! I loved all of the examples of how to incorporate different educational ways of helping your children to be strong confident fearless honey badgers. I would advise anyone that has kids or grandkids to purchase this book. Would also make a great gift for a young family just starting out!! If I could I would give it more than 5 stars!!
