Very nice controllers; not immune to drift, but none of them are. Worth the price for sure.
Unfortunately can't give 5 stars, but over all very nice controllers, solid 4 stars for sure. They're larger than official Nintendo JoyCon controllers, making them more comfortable to hold, especially for people with bigger hands. Excellent value and I love the extra color options. Buttons work the same as the originals, motion controls work great (I'm playing Mario Galaxy on the new Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which requires very precise motion control. I do have to recenter it often, but it was like that on the Wii too).I purchased these because my original Switch controllers need yet ANOTHER drift repair. Nintendo replaced them the first time when both sides came down with the dreaded "JoyCon Drift"; 6mos later the left-side replacement is drifting and cannot be calibrated. These ECHTPower controllers looked like good quality, had solid reviews, with a pricetag less than half of Nintendo JoyCons (which are pretty much guaranteed to need replacing within a year), so I made the purchase. Received them in like ONE DAY, crazy fast shipping.Everything seemed perfect at first- they paired up with my Switch immediately, felt great, played just right for about an hour, no problems. But when I went back to play again that night, I discovered the left joystick was in permanent drift-mode. I went in to Switch calibration and was alarmed to see that it was not even centered when resting (see picture), and when I went through calibration, the last step where you rotate the stick in circles, the dot just jumped all over the screen. Unfortunate, because this was the whole thing I was trying to avoid, the exact reason I'd bought these in the first place!Thankfully I bought these on Amazon, where customer satisfaction and every purchase is 100% guaranteed, so I requested a replacement and received the new controllers the next day (thanks for the speedy shipping Amazon!!). I've only had them for a couple days now, but so far so good! One issue I have to mention; when you step away from a console game, most controllers will shut themselves off. If you're in the bathroom too long or go to grab a snack or whatever, you'll come back to find the screen dark and a message saying something like, "please reconnect controllers". Usually you just press a button and they come back on. With these controllers, there is no magic ON button. If you are using them wirelessly, you have to reconnect both of them to the console to turn them back on, and then take them off and reset connection. It's not a huge problem, and it doesn't hurt your game or anything, but if you're a multitasker like me who regularly has to step away from their gaming, it is inconvenient having to keep reconnecting and disconnecting them.At this time I don't think there is such thing as a perfect controller for the Switch. These feel good, play well, and the price is right. As long as I can get a good amount of play time out of these before the dreaded drift returns, I'll be happy. Good buy.

Worth saving 50%
Overall this is a great controller. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because of the vibration feature. With name brand Nintendo controllers, the vibration can be strong or weak depending on the circumstance of the game you’re playing. With this controller, there is only one setting for vibration. For example, when fishing in Animal Crossing, the vibration for a clownfish is the same as the vibration for a Great White shark. Is that little detail worth saving $40? In my opinion, yes.

Really impressed!
I don't usually buy generic controllers because they always just "feel" worse than OEM or they are much cheaper quality/just not worth saving a few bucks. Well my original joycons were drifting really bad, so I sent them in for repair and decided to give these a try. I think I like these better than the original. They feel better in my hand than the flat joycon. They seem to have everything the joycons come with PLUS turbo/macro buttons. They feel as high quality as the originals and maybe even better if they don't have the drifting issue (time will tell.) They paired right up too when I slid them into their slot. I would say these are a direct replacement for the original. 10/10 would buy again.Edit: The left controller has a D-pad instead of the 4 buttons that the original has. It appears that you can't really use the left controller as a stand alone controller if you need the buttons. I tried to use this set as two controllers for Mario kart last night and the left one didn't seem to register the dpad as button clicks. Eh, small issue. Also, these won't turn the console on from sleep. So if the switch is docked and the controllers are not attached, you have to click the power button on top of the console then hold down the home button on each controller for 1 to 3 seconds to pair them back up to the switchEdit: after a few months the L and R buttons aren't very 'clicky' anymore. This is partly due to the abuse my 3 year old put them through. But maybe not as childproof as I had hoped.

Great alternative
I like that you can charge the controllers on both the Switch and with the included cables. Just plug into a phone charger box and you can charge separate from the system. Although you can put the Switch to sleep with this controller, I am fairly certain that you cannot POWER ON the Switch/TV straight from this controller...not the end of the world. Controller fits well in my hands. The rumble vibration is very strong compared to the Nintendo controllers, but I like it.Downside: If you wanted to separate the controllers, things get interesting. You can use them separately, but they do not come with the black slide on pieces for easier clicking of L and R buttons. You can actually slide the regular Nintendo ones on, and they work, but do not lock. Not devastating, but good to know ahead of time.I bought this item because two of my Nintendo controllers had drifting issues with the joysticks. I have to send them into Nintendo for repair or replacement. This controller is a great stand in. I would definitely recommend for games with the full controller. If you like to play games like Mario Party, with separated controllers, this item would be okay...just lacking the black slide on pieces for easier clicking of L and R.

Great alternative!
I've been looking for a good alternative to Nintendo's joycons, and these are very good. First, these use a different joystick, which should not have the same drifting issues that the original ones tend to get. So far I've had no problems with the joysticks. The form factor of the controllers are also more comfortable. The triggers are also an improvement, because they are larger and stick out slightly. There is no amiibo support and no hd rumble, but overall it's a fair trade off. Very happy with these joycons.

Already drifting after less than a month of use
We have taken care of these and they are already drifting, in less than a month it's so frustrating.
