good canning jars, for numerous products!

These jars are not the usual Ball or Kerr jars I'm used to buying, but they canned up my products beautifully! The jars are sturdy and held up well to the water bath method of canning I used for canning hot peppers and jam.

The packaging the jars arrived in was formed to fit the jars to protect them during shipment which is ideal to prevent breakage during handling. The jars unpacked from the packaging with ease, with lids and rings already on the jars but reasonably loose to prevent accidental sealing. I used the 'water canning' method to can raspberry and blueberry preserves after thoroughly washing the jars, lids and rings. Following the prescribed 'water canning' method, boiling jars for disinfecting in the canning pan before filling and soaking lids in hot water to energize seals. Filling the jars with a 'canning funnel', placing the lids on jars edge then 'screwing' down the rings to hold lids in place was easy and fast. The jars were then placed in the 'boiling water' in the canning pan and covered to process for the recipes prescribed period. Once removed, using a good quality jar remover and placed to air cool, in less than 10 minutes, all jar lids 'popped' to indicate they had sealed. THERE WERE NO LEAKS, FAILURES TO SEAL, BENDING OR BUCKLING OF THE LIDS. These jars are a very attractive alternative to the more expensive 'name brand' jars and work equally well. The only semi-negatives: 1) The jars are 'faceted' on the exterior that is popular, however I prefer smooth but that does not deter from this positive review. 2) The labels provided with the jars are round and will fit atop the lids but do not fit the oval label rings on the side of the jars. This is a highly recommended product.

Nice set of jars. As advertised

As a distinguished Photinus pyralis (common name: lightning bug, but I prefer “bioluminescent artiste”), I never expected to spend my Thursday evening trapped inside a human beverage cylinder known as a glass mason jar. Yet here I am, glowing indignantly. First impression: excellent transparency. The 360° crystalline panorama allows for unobstructed glaring at the human child who kidnapped me. The glass is sturdy, smooth, and disappointingly escape-proof. Airflow, however, is highly dependent on whether the captor remembers to poke holes in the lid. (Mine did. Barely. Two stars deducted for mild suffocation vibes.) The jar’s spacious interior comfortably accommodates one lightning bug with room for interpretive flight. If you’re sharing the space with a second bug, I imagine things get awkward fast, especially if one of you is going through a “dim phase.” The lid closure is impressively secure—too secure, honestly. I tested it through repeated glowing protests and several short-range charge-and-bounce maneuvers, but the seal held strong. From a purely structural standpoint: five stars. From a “let me out of here before my glow sac dries up” standpoint: zero. Aesthetically, the jar’s glass refracts my bioluminescence into charming kaleidoscopic patterns. If I weren’t being held against my will, I might call it magical. But I am being held against my will, so the magic is somewhat diminished. Final Rating: 3/5 stars. Lovely ambiance, durable construction, but overall too effective at containing innocent glowing insects. I recommend this product only for storing jam, buttons, or beans—not unwilling participants in nature’s nighttime light show.

Lids are garbage - buckled easily. I have never had lids buckle on me before. I used these lids to can and out of 8 jars, 6 lids buckled. Now I have to can everything all over again. Very disappointed.
