This book is highly recommended to the students I teach at the Fire Academy. This book covers all aspects of being a firefighter. This book is different from his other highly recommended book, Reach for the Firefighter Badge. This book discusses traps candidates can fall in to and other items that may prevent them from getting hired. In return we learn what departments are looking for and how to make sure that we show them that we have those aspects they are looking for. Why would you not want an advantage over someone you are testing against to get into a career you love and have worked so hard to get in to? This book will give you the advantage you are looking for. It discusses the education process, expectations, and many hints to assist you in impressing departments and helping you become a firefighter. This book assists in getting you hired and prepares you for the job. If you have questions he has answers. Remember, you are being graded on every part of the hiring process. I would rather learn from an individual who writes for major publications and instructs at major conferences than a person who just sits behind a desk. Chief Prziborowski is the professional that I want to learn from and I feel that you should want that as well. If there was more stars I would have rated it higher!

His interview prep advice, and guides to learning about the fire service are top notch and really align with what agencies are looking for today. You don't want to miss out on your dream department by not being ready when their hiring process opens! I strongly recommend purchasing both his books: Reach for the Firefighter Badge and the Future Firefighter's Preparation Guide. His publications have absolutely helped me along the way and contain invaluable information.
