Although we live in a warmer climate, we have space heaters in five rooms. Our central heating system started acting up a few years ago and it's more cost effective for us to use space heaters as needed. Thus, I have become an unintended expert on their pros and cons. Even if you have a great central heating system at home, keeping the overall temp lower and adding extra heat to each room as needed is a great way to balance the budget. Let’s compare this new TaoTraonics PTC model to the several Laskos we have used:TAOTRONICS VS LASKO: Heating efficiency and noise:Although each brand puts out an impressive 1500 watts and has a range of speeds, I was pleasantly surprised that the Taotronics is quieter. That’s a big advantage when watching TV or talking in the kitchen.TAOTRONICS VS LASKO: Ease of use and versatility:We prefer taller tower units such as this one. The lower height models save no floor space but don’t spread the heat around as quickly. When not using the remote, you need to bend town to reach the controls of lower height heaters. Although the Taotronics and the three Laskos we own each have adjustable speeds and ability to optionally swivel, the controls of this model are slightly more logical without having to guess which control does what.TAOTRONICS VS LASKO: Reliability and safety:After three Laskos, I was ready to try a new brand. In our experience, they work for a couple of years and then stop working after the warranty has expired. I’m very impressed this TaoTronics model comes with an 18 month warranty. Regarding safety, I have never had a model before with a tip over shut-off feature and very glad to have it.TAOTRONICS VS LASKO: Remote control:Both brands come with remotes. The Lasko remote is bigger and bulkier yet works fine. Like the unit itself, understanding the remote buttons is not as logical as it could be. One Lasko feature we like is that the tower has a hook on back to store it. However, it’s a pain to grab the remote because I have to pull out the whole tower to reach it easily.The TaoTronics remote is smaller and easiest to use. Although there is no hook on the unit, we love the flat top of the tower, a perfect place for the remote to be found when needed. I’m going to use a small Velcro square to allow the remote to stick to the top if I ever need to lift the tower and carry it to the other room. The TaoTronics is easy to lift by the included handle.TAOTRONICS VS LASKO: Looks and aesthetics:One reason I bought the TaoTronics was for it’s great, simple design that can match a variety of décor styles well without standing out too obviously. Although a matter of personal taste, none of our Laskos match the décor of our home very well. The Laskos we own look dated. Lasko has more modern looking version, too, but it reminds me of a 1970s version of a perceived modern future, thus looking dated, too.TAOTRONICS VS LASKO: Conclusion:For our family, my wife and I are truly pleased to have a “hot” new family addition. Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This is an amazing heater. My bed room is the coldest room in the house during winter. My ceramic heater blew out on me in the early part of February. In my heart I know this winter is going to be brutal. With that being said- I knew it was time to start the review hunt on Amazon. We all know if it’s four stars or below- skip. This little gem right here had five stars. Of course I needed to see if it was the seller using family members to boost up the ratings lol. But there were some verified purchaser reviews that convinced me to invest. Although it took about a month to get to me- it was well worth it. I turned it on last night and woke up sweating at 6am. I needed water. I felt like I was in the desert for sure. This heater is worth every penny. If you experience cold nights in any room - this is the heater for you. Five minutes tops maybe six and you’re warm.

This heater warms up my 10 feet by 11 feet bedroom quickly and evenly with its oscillating function. I really like the dimensions of the heater. Compact, only needs small floor space. I can tuck it away in the room corner. It is good looking with some very nice features that I like very much, such as digital display, easy-to-navigate control panel, a matching remote-control, and safety features. I have playful kids so I love tip-over switch protection. I tested this safety feature specially and it works beautifully.

Edit: The burned plastic scent still persists after several weeks. First, I thought it was because the heater was new but the smell never gone away after several weeks.It also fails to warm up a small living room. I put on relatively low temperature, 70 F, but it just keeps working all day without stopping as it never reaches that temperature, although I closed all the doors and windows.Customer service is non-existent. Avoid at any cost.I have received my order quite recently and so far so good. I will update my review as I get to use it more in the coming months. Sadly, batteries for the remote weren't included (they are usually are with this type of products). Not a big deal, but rather an inconvenience

Compact and stylish heater that gives out plenty of heat with great range so it should warm up whatever sized room you have really fast. I especially like the eco mode, which dynamically adjusts between lo and hi settings to maintain the optimal temperature set.

Lots of heat from a small package! I read the instructions, added the AAA batteries to the remote control (that alone will spoil you!), then registered the product online. I’m 70 and it was easy. Six feet away from my desk, I can see the crisp display easily, which makes using the heater quite nice.I have an oil type heater in my bedroom, and if you have one of these, you know heat output is anything but quick. This new Taotronics runs circles around it!! Also it’s quiet, very quiet. You’ll like that if you’re using it in a bedroom.I read many reviews here on Amazon, both highlighted reviews and more importantly current reviews. This heater had the most consistent HIGHLY RECOMMENDED REVIEWS of all I compared it to.If you’re looking for an excellent heater, quit reading this and just Buy It!!

I recommend this product totally, esp given the price point. A couple of improvements they can make:1. The LED light is so bright that if you're facing the unit while sleeping, it feels like someone is shining a flashlight in your face. I wish there was an option to dime LED or turn it off completely.2. The fan emits air with weird stinking smell. I've gotten used to it now but I wish the air didn't carry the stink.

I purchased this product to replace a previous item that I returned because the other heater was way to noisy (It was made by a different company)I was delighted when I got it. It's perfect. The sound level is fine. I use it in my home office. It also has a handy remote control so I can adjust right from my desk with ease. The heater has great heat output and a slim profile which I really appreciate!I'll definitely purchase from this company again when I need to replace the other heater in our MusicRoom/Mancave.Thanks Taotronics for making me a believer!

This is my 2nd Taotronics product that I've purchased and I definitely feel safe sticking with this brand. The heater warms the room almost instantly and has enough modes to play around to find a suitable setting. Was so satisfied that we later purchased Taotronics 36 Inch Oscillating Tower Fan in anticipation of a hot summer.

I purchased the heater and have been using it for about three weeks now. It has been working well. I would recommend that the best way to use it is through the remote as the buttons on the heater are pretty sensitive.I hope that helps!

Boosts warmth in room 350sqft. Used when temperatures fall below -10 degrees C to supplement heat pump. Very happy with oscillating feature. Heater is compact and sleek. Accomplishes what I hoped it would.

Thanks for checking out my simple review.I have tested this heater for a month now, and I will like to list the pros and the only con I have.Pros- Fastest heater to warm up a large room in my basement.- I like the oscillation- I take a lot of calls in close proximity to the heater, and my callers cannot hear a thing.- The remote does all but one thing which is listed as a con.- I tested the safety tilt feature and I know it works.Con- The remote does not change the temperature units from Fahrenheit to Celsius. I hate that I have to change it by clicking the plus and minus buttons on the heater each time. If you do not move the heater around, then the setting stays the same. Unfortunately, once you unplug the heater everything resets.Reason for the low rating is because of the spam card they attach asking for an email address in exchange for something.
