Great for using in a sit in Kayak, This is a Very Nice Little telescoping Rod
I purchased this rod to use in my sit in Kayak It's a very good length. I also use it for trout fishing from the shore. works great the 6lb line and reel are great. no problems. also can reel can be used left or right handed I am glad I found it .UPDATE; I bought this rod in February It is now July I go fishing weekly I have never had a problem with this rod and reel. I also modified mine (filed down the hook) to be able to use a Zebco 33 micro under trigger spin, works great. I have also used this rod with different reels and different weights of line never any problem. I don't know why so many have issues with this rod. Only thing I have found is to be careful when collapsing the tip.

Use Zip Ties to Keep it Together
I grew up with Zebco. They were always a good value fishing pole for beginners. Apparently their standards for design and quality have gone to zero in the past 30 years. They use a zip tie to hold the reel to the rod. The reel does not stay on without it. The threaded coupling does not grip at all. So instead of actually fixing their design before releasing to market, Zebco decided to use packaging material (a zip tie) to hold the thing together. It makes it uncomfortable to hold and has a sharp barbell sticking out of the tie end. I tried to remove it and the reel fell off in my 5 year olds hands.

normally use my cane pole or fly rod, but once in while I like a short rod and reel-
this short rod and reel go places my fly rod and cane pole are not able to-- action and balance are good, hold up well with blue gill-- have not caught anything over 1/2 pound but assume it can handle fish up to 3 pounds or so-- maybe more

Great value!
Bought this for my 7 year old, and he loves it! It is a sturdy combo. We weren’t expecting much considering the price, but got a great pole!

Kid friendly fishing pole
Great for beginners! We tied a bobber with a weight to the end of the fishing pole for my 5 year old to practice casting. It is a great fishing pole for beginners and is easy to use. My son is able to cast and reel in own his own. The light weight pole is easy for him to carry on his own.

Feels solid... but it’s NOT
First, it’s rather heavy for its size, even for a telescopic rod. Then on the second or third time out, it snapped about 2/3 of the distance up from the reel.
