Worth having on your bookshelf
I wanted a basic but comprehensive reference to have at home for those random times when I want to look up some grammar explanation. I found two books - this one and the Oxford 'Everyday Grammar' - but I couldn't understand which would be better, so I decided to order both and return the one I didn't like. In the end I actually decided to keep both. This one is arranged (as the cover says) in an A-Z fashion, so it's good for looking up specific topics quickly; the other book is arranged more according to concepts, so it might be better for researching something general and reading on for further details.

Detailed
Nothing to dislike. However, it’s very detailed and might be more for an aspiring writer.

Not perfect but useful and sometimes stimulating
There's quite a lot of information packed onto 188 small pages. Density has had priority over clarity in the page layouts. The A-Z format means a lot of to-ing and fro-ing. Useful for intelligent parents of schoolchildren and a pleasure to pick up for a few minutes at a time. There are some surprising omissions (nothing on the use of 'whether' for example), a few misjudgments (mood - subjunctive - 'This is rarely used and only in formal written language.' - Really?), and very occasional and unworthy lapses where the author seems to have a bee in his bonnet (the entry for 'none are/none is' for example).

A must, for any English learner.
An excellent pocketbook.

Really good guide to grammar and punctuation.
I mainly wanted this book to catch up with what terms and conditions I may have missed during my years at school. Essentially as a writer I felt now was the time to get back to the nuts and bolts of the craft and possibly learn new concepts I hadn't been taught. Needless to say, this was a really solid and compact guide to everything grammar and punctuation. Covers pretty much everything you'd want to know and understand, providing great examples and countless graphs to help emphasise it's points. In all, I'd absolutely recommend this to only who's a writer or studying the subject of the English language. It's really small and handy to read through, well worth the investment and time.

Hardly any punctuation
It is a really nice little reference book if what you are mainly looking for is an explanation of English grammar. I wanted a definitive book on punctuation and there were only 3 pages, with very basic information, unfortunately.

Anyone interested in learning the true "rule" about the so-called "Oxford comma" (instead of tormenting the rest of us with your supposed erudition) should own this book. (Spoiler alert: the Oxford comma isn't necessary.)

It is worth less and wastage of money

Mein Dozent hat dieses Werk empfohlen und es ist wirklich hilfreich. Bei dem Umfang gibt es natürlich nicht für jede Ausnahme eine Erklärung, aber um ein grundlegendes Verständnis zu diversen grammatikalischen Themen zu erlangen, ist dieses Büchlein wirklich hilfreich.

It is compact. Very handy if one is reviewing paperwork.
