Buy this vac I’m no shark hater , but you’ll need customer services sooner or later
Bought in April of 2023, £188 at time of purchase Had 2 vax blade cordless vacs which while good had started to lose power, so thought I’d go for a corded model , Chose a shark after reading countless reviews and was interested to see if the anti hair wrap could cope with 2 huge ragdoll cats that leave a ton of hair about the place A year later and with a few slight hiccups I thought I’d leave my thoughts on it. Vac feels ok in the hand , too heavy though for my wife who sticks to her blade vac , Easy to use on/off button with another next to it to alter the speed on the brushes Feels pretty plastic but not too bad and the dirt collector although small is easy to empty and clean with all filters washable (well I wash them!) The moveable arm that you wrap the cord round when storing broke after 6 weeks but I epoxy’d it back on and ok now . Great suction with 2 brushes getting most things up in 1 to 2 passes , anti hair wrap works great and I’ve only had to remove a few strands a couple times , an absolute game changer for me who was constantly cutting out hair from our blade vacs , I’ve had the rollers stop a few times with the wheels at the end of the rollers getting jammed with hair, 10 mins once every 3 months with a paper clip will remove the jam and get it working again, Been having a problem with the power button intermittently not working for the last few months and today it wouldn’t turn off and when unplugging it , yep .. it then wouldn’t turn back on after plugging it back in, got in touch with Amazon first who gave me sharks number and after a video call probably to make sure I wasn’t trying it on they have dispatched a new head unit without a quibble , so top marks for that , there’s a 5 year warranty on corded vacs so plenty of peace of mind , So all in all a good vacuum, works well and any problems are sorted quickly by shark ( in my opinion) Anti hair wrap should be standard on all vacs!! I’ve no hesitation in recommending this vac👍🏼

It’s epic!
As a women and as a cleaner I can 100% recommend this hoover. It’s light, it’s compact, it’s got a strong suction and there isn’t really a lot it won’t pick up. I had the shark lift away and for some reason it hated my flooring after my partner complaining about it I finally decided enough is enough so I went with this after trying my friends one and bought one the same day! I’ve had it a few weeks now and it hasn’t failed me yet. It’s really easy to set up and it’s really easy to use! The foot button at the bottom of the pole is to lift the pole away from the head. The arrows is to change the hoover from hard flooring to carpet. I love that it’s got a super long wire and now I can hoover my whole house without changing the plug like 3-4 times. Cons are: it might be a me issue is when you snap the pole to go under the table you can’t seem to get the hoover to go in the direction you want it to. The electrical wire can get in your way because of where it comes out of the handle But still I would recommend this and would definitely buy another if this ever broke! Oh btw my partner. He loves this one because it’s so easy and fool proof!

Good, but not that good.
It's a Shark, so it cleans (probably) better than anything else out there. But you already know that, which is why you're thinking about buying one, so I won't go on about the amount of dog hair/deep carpet dust it gets out every time, which still amazes and embarrasses me every time I use it. On the downside, it's bloody heavy and I wonder who these people are that say it's lightweight. OK I'm 74, but have been throwing hoovers around for over 50 years and I know a heavy hoover when I push one. I certainly wouldn't want to clean ceilings with it for any length of time. I'll stick to my feather duster! Secondly, the height of the handle isn't adjustable. I'm 5'6" and it's too high, making it unwieldy. They also make a thing about it folding this way and that but, if it didn't, you couldn't stand it up for storage, plus I have no need to make it bend to go under things. I've had corded hoovers before but the lead is almost constantly in my way. It's also a surprisingly heavy lead, although I appreciate the length because it means I can do my 2 bedroomed bungalow in a single session. Yes, you do need to empty it every time, but it's really easy. Overall, excellent quality and performance, but some negatives which suggest I wouldn't buy another model like this one. For info, I now use a gtech for a daily whip round, leaving the 'big boy' for when I'm channelling my inner domestic goddess and doing a deep clean.

Nippy Sucky Vacuum
I bought this to replace my aging Dyson. This vac was so simple to assemble I didn't even need to consult the instructions once. It's compact and has a very long cord which means I don't have to unplug & replug it to reach all of my house. The full vac is very sucky so gives the impression of being heavy but it is just the strength of the vacuum doing a great job of cleaning. The hand held part is easy to handle and excellent on stairs and tight spaces 10/10 for that. The main body of the vac is narrow and flexible enough to fit in most spaces under furniture, between chair legs etc . It has very strong suction and excellent cleaning. All in all a very good vacuum cleaner.. I would recommend this product.

Great on fluff-covered carpets, easy to manoeuvre
My (long haired) cat and I are both shedders. A robot vacuum had been keeping the mess at bay, but after it conked, there were 2 very long weeks which saw the carpets of the flat getting hairier by the hour. Bought this on the recommendation of a friend and am delighted. With a household appliance. This is middle age, I guess. The floors were transformed, instantly. Dirt that the previous cleaner had only glanced at was pulled into the vacuum cleaner with ease. The small cannister needed a couple of empties during the first run-through, but since then it has been ample and I only change it after each complete clean now (though it would probably be fine for 2 or 3 uses). It's fairly dextrous - it gets into most nooks, under sofas, beds, between chair legs, and cleans right to the edges - so no build-up of cat treat crumbs nestled in the skirting boards. It is also relatively lightweight for its power. I have variable mobility (spine issues), so can only speak to personal capabilities here, but I find it pretty easy to move around, mostly due to the smooth 'steering' of it. The mechanism which prevents things getting tangled in the brush also seems to work really well- I've not had to untangle anything manually yet. Emptying it is also straightforward and easy. Suction is powerful enough that it has tried to swallow a couple of the smaller rugs. The only negatives are that it doesn't balance/stand on its own, and if I'm being really picky, I'd have liked a colour that isn't rose gold, but overall this has proven to be a great purchase.

It doesn't stand up on its own
Well the title of this review is the ‘cons’. Now for the back story and pro’s. Separated from my husband and bought myself a shark vacuum. He had our original one. I’m in a 1 bedroom flat and got fed up with trying g to store it and with the cord. Bought a rechargeable Hoover. Great to start with. After 3 years it’s not holding a charge or picking up properly. Have you seen the price of the batteries!?! Anyway. I’d donated my lovely Shark to my ex-fool! 🤣 I decided to bite the bullet and treat myself and my home to a corded shark. This one the folding variety. I can plug this baby in the kitchen and hoover the whole flat! But I’ve learnt to hoover the bathroom bedroom hall then plug it in the hall and hoover the kitchen and living room. That way the exceptionally long cord is always behind me. The noise is not a problem. On carpet mode it’s like a low roar but this picks up everything even the wood pellet cat litter which my cats decide looks better on the floor! Speaking of cats they hate the noise. But they don't pay rent so they go in another room whilst I’m hoovering. Then again they didn’t like the other one. My fault. I’ve brought them up like a prince and princess ❤️❤️ Anyways. I have strategic places to safely lean my Shark. The sofa, the shoe rack and the bed. Not a high price to pay for such a stunning hoover! No problems storing it. It sits in the corner next to my fridge freezer. Not a lot of cupboard space here. I would not trade this baby for my rechargeable Hoover in a million years. Oh and the hair anti wrap? Works like a dream. There a ‘cone thing’ inside the bin and the hair wraps around this. I empty after every use and you should see how much it picks up. Don’t look any further. If you’re thinking about buying this just buy it. I even bought it over 3 months so I didn’t have to pay it all up front. 3 easy payments, the first on dispatch. Perfect! Thank you Shark and Amazon 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Light and versatile
What i have: small, old cottage, two fluffy indoor bunnies, one moulting dog, daughter with long hair, arthritis and strength issues( usual old age stuff)dense, close pile carpets. My previous vac( Vax airlift) was heavy and awkward to manage, however it could suck the foundations from under Stonehenge! On a day to day basis though,it was painful and exhausting for me to use for any length of time....hence the purchase of this Shark. This vac is light and so easy to use,no messing with the hose, easy to keep the small dust box clean, very small and easy to store. The down side, I find the suction does not fully pick up bunny fluff from the pile in my carpets, although it does a very good " surface" job. The anti hair thingy works very well,it's great for upholstery, stairs and rugs. Conclusion: I am going to get a new Vax air for a good deep hoovering each week, but do not regret buying this Shark at all, which i can comfortably use daily for all tasks. P.S I am not made of money, the Shark was on special offer,as is the Vax at the mo.
