Perfect if you want to leave your key fob in the car
We used to have a 2007 Ford Explorer with a physical key (not a keyless key fob) and a keypad on the driver door. So, we could keep the key inside the center console of the car, between the two front seats, and just use the keypad to enter the locked car. This made it very easy for the multiple drivers in our household to drive the Explorer without wondering who had the key, etc. The key just stayed in the car. It was a great system that worked well for us.Alas, the 2007 Explorer died. We replaced it with a brand new 2018 SUV. The problem is, almost all new cars (including this one) use keyless key fobs, and the key fob is required both to open the car door and to drive the car. We can't leave the key fob in the car, because the car will complain and refuse to lock the doors. And even if we succeed in locking the car, there is no way to open it again, unless we use another key fob (which kind of defeats the purpose). What to do?We found a good solution, and this little pouch is an important part of that solution. This solution is not original. Others on the Internet, and even other reviewers of this pouch here on Amazon, have briefly described this workaround, but I wanted to spell it out in a bit more detail for those folks (like me) who are not car experts. The solution is in two parts:1. I bought this pouch. It's a great little pouch. It's the perfect size for our normal size key fob. (I tried another pouch, but it was bigger than necessary.) All I do is put the key fob in the pouch (I don't even need to seal the Velcro pouch closed), and put the pouch in the upper tray of the center console of the car, between the two front seats. Then, I can successfully lock the doors without the car complaining that there is a key fob in the car, because the car can't detect the key fob. To drive the car, all I do is take the fob out of the pouch, but leave both the pouch and the key fob in that same upper tray of the center console, and the car starts right up. So, the key fob is always in the same place, it never gets lost, and I drive the car as usual. When I'm done driving, I put the key fob back in the pouch so I can lock the car. However, I still needed a way to get back into the locked car. I wanted one of those keypads, like on our old 2007 Explorer. Modern cars don't seem to offer those keypads since the rise of the keyless key fob. However:2. You can have a keypad installed on the aftermarket, that will open the driver's door. I went to a local business that installs new audio systems and accessories into cars. It turns out that these types of businesses are all over the place (type "install car stereo" into an Internet search engine to find one of these businesses near you). These businesses all seem to offer one brand or another of a pushbutton keypad for your car, that will open the driver door when you type your code on the keypad, and they will also install it for you. The particular keypad that they installed on my car is removable without a trace if I want to sell the car later. It mounts on the inside of the driver side edge of the front windshield, and you "touch" the buttons by tapping on the outside of the windshield (sort of by magic...based on some kind of sciencey techie principle). Anyway, the keypad I got cost $280 including the installation, which is maybe a little pricey. There might be cheaper keypads out there. I have seen other styles of aftermarket keypads advertised, but I just chose the one particular keypad that is sold and installed by my local car audio shop. But anyway, this pouch, plus an aftermarket keypad, works great in our car, and lets us keep the key fob locked in the car so it never gets lost. This pouch does its job well.

*BLOCKS* Signal EFFECTIVELY! Extra Security For Key-less Cars
It works! The FOBGUARD FARADAY POUCH for keyless car key (or electronic key) does block the signal, so the car can't be started and the doors can't be opened.I bought this pouch, which is black and has a Velcro closure at the top, because I saw a news report that said thieves can buy an electronic device on the internet that magnifies/extends the range of electronic keys, so your car will think you are in the vicinity. With that device they can unlock your car door (and more than likely start the car to drive off with it) and the news showed surveillance footage of car thieves in action all over the place in underground garages and parking lots, opening cars and stealing the contents. They were in and out of the cars in minutes and gone without leaving a trace since nothing was broken or jimmied or forced. It was quite alarming.Recently I got a new SUV which uses the key-less entry and push-button start, so I immediately purchased the FOBGUARD. Even though I don't keep anything valuable in my car, have my own private garage, and have a GPS tracking system built into the SUV in the event it does get stolen, I would rather not go through the headache of dealing with all that. You know the saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."I can say that it does the job. Once I received it I put my electronic key in the pouch and put it inside my bag (which is how I normally carry the key). I got into my car to start it and I get the message on my dashboard saying key is not in range and so I had to take it out of the pouch, which then allowed me to start the car, so this little pouch definitely does what it is designed to do.Needless to say I'm happy with this purchase. The only thing I wish was different about the FOBGUARD FARADAY POUCH is that instead of Velcro I would have preferred a zipper closure, but maybe the Velcro provides a better seal.So I now store my electronic key in it.

Great Protection
After watching a news clip showing how the car thieves can pick up the signal from your fob as you walk away from your car in the parking lot then turn around and open your car or worse yet drive away in it, I felt an urgent need to buy something to protect myself from this happening to me. The FobGuard works exactly as advertised. My car will NOT open when my fob is in the sleeve, so I feel much more secure. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5-star rating is because of the size. If it were just a little larger it would be perfect. My other keys on the fob won't fit in this so it's a tiny bit awkward to try to close it. I also bought a larger item from Faraday that resembles a wallet for only a few dollars more that will fit all keys, credit cards, etc. All-in-all this is an excellent product that I recommend to all.

Dopo un anno non funziona più quindi è diventato un semplice portachiavi.

Very useful - saving valuable property as (car).
It is working! Blocking successfully the signal from the car key when is inside, and its opening is well sealed by its velcro-tipe. Consider car key for European model of car - car key for American model of car is working on different radio frequency, and could not block the signal for such key.

Eficaz

Remove the fob from the pouch and everything is just fine, door unlocks and car starts
I was a bit dubious but no need. It works perfectly. The car will not open if the fob is in the pouch, nor will it start. Remove the fob from the pouch and everything is just fine, door unlocks and car starts.Perfect
