We rinse it out then run it thru the dishwasher.

Works best when the oil is hot. I have been using this product for 20 years. It is an excellent product

I dont know what you mean by asking if the baskets sit right in the filters. These filters are used when you drain the oil from the fryer into a drain pot. Once complete, you pour the oil back into the fryer. You should drain and filter your oil every day. We also recommend the use of the MirOil Fry Powder for extending the life of your oil.
