Performs its function but could be better
We want to keep our toddler in a rear facing car seat as long as possible. This monitor allows us to see and interact with him as if he is forward facing so in that respect it performs its function. There are several things we do not like or had issues with:1. The monitor and camera have separate cords that can plug into the USB adapter available in most vehicles. The set comes with a plug that goes into the car slot and there are spots for two USB connections (one for each device). This adapter did not work. Fortunately we have a newer vehicle with two USB connectors so we don't have to use this.2. The batteries have a seriously short life span. Like an hour. If you do quite a bit of driving you will have to rely on the USB connectors.3. The monitor and camera have no way to communicate their power status. This means it is easy to turn off the monitor and forget the camera is still on (and run the battery down...see #2).4. The picture is often fuzzy because the camera depth of field is longer than the distance between our headrest and the car seat. We ended up hanging the animal on the backside of the headrest (arms around the front of the headrest instead of the back) in order to get the picture to be clear enough to see facial expressions. We have a RAV4 so this could be a bigger issue for someone with a smaller vehicle. These were not deal breakers for us so we kept it. We've had it several months and I'd get it or something similar again.Update Jun 2015: Product still works and haven't found anything better. We think issue #4, above, is actually due to light rather than depth of field. It is very bright and sunny where we live. We've noticed when light is more normal to dim, clarity is better.

Great concept but poor engineering went into the mounting and positioning of the camera. We couldn't go 2 miles without road bumps moving the camera out of frame. My other issue is that the charging port and on and off switch are not easily accessible. They are in the butt of the animal. We returned this for the yada tiny traveler wireless camera w/ 4.3" screen. It has multiple mounting options and a clear wireless image.

I absolutely LOVE this product
At 2 months old my daughter had stopped breathing twice. Our family was moving across country so I purchased this. I absolutely LOVE this product!!! I have now owned this for 5 months and it's still going strong. I have it plugged into the car adapter for most of our drive but it will run for about 3-4hrs without being plugged in. The picture quality is wonderful and I was able to see her perfectly. I am going to purchase another for my girlfriend who just had her baby and will be traveling a lot. 100% recommend!!

This thing is a must for parents in general. The night vision is amazing and the day camera is Crystal clear and high resolution. Don't know what I would do without it. Also, my daughter loves the money design and she always wants to touch the camera. We bought one and the camera and after monitor wouldn't pair. After contacting Infant Tech, they had us send it back to them, postage paid, and replaced the unit without hesitation.

It works great.
It works great. The battery does not last long on the camera (2 hours or so). On a good note it can be plugged into the cars 12v plug or USB. The Image quality on the monitor is not great considering the price but is completely adequate for the application of viewing our bundle of joy in a rear facing car seat.

Doesn't last
I liked it for the first three months, but then the camera stopped working. The screen on the monitor is small but big enough. The image is decent for the price and battery life was okay, but the camera part no longer turns on. I tried charging it but nothing. Now it is worthless.

very nice monitor, just wish the battery would last longer
very nice monitor, just wish the battery would last longer. It's hard to remember to turn it off each time when I get out of the car….so that is my issue, but I would still buy it again!!!. I absolutely love the night vision!! That was the reason I bought it!

Many problems!
Firstly, we ordered the blue puppy (for a boy) and what arrived was the monkey (with a pink floral pattern on it ... yes, look closely and you will see it!). Secondly, we paid for a brand new camera/monitor and what arrived was used (box previously opened from the bottom (clever but still deceitful) and finger prints all over the monitor). The stitches on the back of the monkey also seemed to be coming undone. We did still test it out to see if it was worth ordering a second time. Well, we have mixed feelings about the performance. During day time the quality is pretty reasonable with vivid colors and image & sound clarity but it's the total opposite at night time (when you really need this thing to work). The unit we received also developed strange lines across the image screen at night and the camera kept powering off and had to be reset over and over again. So overall, night vision is very poor and needs drastic improvements for this to be a good buy for the price being asked. If the manufactures don't wish to invest any more in improving this critical feature then they need to lower the price of this product to well under $100 for what it actually does. Like another amazon customer mentioned already, the soft animal (camera unit) needs to be hung (not in front of the back passenger seat headrest which is what would be better and more convenient) but on the side or even partially behind the passenger seat headrest for the focus to work better and in this position it keeps sliding off so you have to stop to keep re-adusting making it very annoying for the person driving. Not sure yet if the replacement unit which we are planning to get will have the same problems or if these were limited to the USED and defective set we got. Will update once we receive and test a new one one and can find out for ourselves. I hope someone on the manufacturing side is reading this.
