Wood: A True Lover's Story (True Lover's Stories Book 2)

My favourite couple
Wood and Trent is my favourite couple in the series and this is also my favourite book of the trilogy.Trent has major abandonment and anger issues and he's like a feral animal, desperate for love and affection but quick to answer with fangs and claws. He has Bishop as his brother and Mike as his dad, but he doesn't expect Bishops old cell mate Wood to read him like a book. From the moment they meet there's a spark and Trent can't help to trying to get Wood to react. But when Wood do react it's not in the way Trent expects. Wood just sees through all of Trents walls and little by little he let's his guards down.I loved this book and the relationship and this was the book that got me the most emotional, my heart broke for Wood when he hit rock bottom and I'm happy that Mike finally accepted that he is perfect for Trent.

Finding home!!
These two are everything and so much more!! I loved Trent's smart mouth and that Wood's the compete opposite to the point of not even cussing for the most part. These two were the perfect pieces for each other the calm in each other's storm. Wood was struggling being out and trying to find his new way when everything and everyone from his past was either gone or looked at him like a monster and Trent is just so tired of being alone and maybe just maybe those thoughts he's been having are starting to make more sense. When Bishop moves them in together and the back and forth gets more fun than frustrating it's just the beginning!!

Excellent
Wood is book two of the True Lover's Stories series by AE Via. Trent is finding himself very alone recently and it's taking its toll on his mental state. Wood is recently released on parole needing a place to stay. He ends up in the trailer with Trent and sparks fly. There is quite a bit to unload in this book. Both men have complicated and somewhat tragic pasts that mentally or physically won't let them go, but the romance and chemistry between these two characters is a wonderful read.I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy slowburn romance with some humor thrown in. Although it could be lead as a stand alone in a pinch, I would recommend reading the first book to begin.

So much patience
Wood is seriously the epitome of patience! He was so patient with Trent. Even when Trent maybe didn't deserve it. Wood's story was so heartbreaking. He deserves forgiveness. He broke my heart but the way Trent was there for him was amazing. Trent is such a good person. I enjoyed seeing Bishop and Edison again too. I can't wait until the last book is released. Rayne seems like a very interesting character. And I'm excited to see how his relationship plays out with Mike.

Second chance
Get a second chance and the one that makes his heart take notice of course is a brat. The characters both fit each other and make each other complete

5 stars for Wood!
A.E. Via is known for her gritty alphas, and Wood and Trent both certainly fit that mold. They’re also both blue collar ex-cons just trying to get ahead in life. They do have those things in common, along with Bishop as a close friend to each of them. At first glance, they might not seem like a match…especially since Trent seems determined to keep distance between them before they’ve even met. Y’all know how that will work out, right?I do have to say—if after Wood’s “redemption day” you don’t feel totally torn apart and defeated on his behalf, you may want to check if you still have a beating heart. I was devastated for him, but Wood’s lowest point does lead to the realization that Trent, sarcastic smart-ass that he is, is actually capable of incredible compassion, and later intense intimacy. The care he shows for Wood is truly moving and the entire situation acts as a point for both men to become fully cognizant of their feelings.Things don’t always go smoothly for these guys, and just when you think they will there’s just enough angst thrown in to stir things up again. But there is no doubt that they have fought for what they have and really deserve their happiness in the end. There’s a solid cast of supporting characters; of course you’ll find Bishop and Edison here, it’s so good to see them again and they both are there for Trent and Wood, along with Mike, Bishop’s father. Yes, Mike may act like a big kid, but he’s one of Trent’s biggest supporters. There is also a new introduction, Rayne, who shows up in the beginning and again at the end, and I think he’s going to pique the interest of a lot of readers (like oh, say, ME).5 stars for Wood! Do you need to read Bishop first? Not necessarily; however, I think you will get a better understanding of Trent’s personality if you do, and you’ll get to see more about his connection with Bishop and what they’ve gone through together. Plus Bishop and Edison’s story is phenomenal (yeah, okay, I’m a little biased because I LOVE Edison). Now go enjoy Wood and Trent’s story, and remember with the adult language and sexual content, this one is meant for readers 18+.

Okay Read😔👍
Just a little disappointed in book two of this series🤔. One of the main characters in this story was just a little too childish to be the age the book was claiming him to be. However the storyline was still a okay read😊. On to the next book😉😁!

Another Winner in the A True Lover's Story Series
This one will get you right in the feels...I just needed to say that right off the bat. Trent and Wood's story is an angsty, emotional tale with an age gap romance and a bit of forced proximity.I'm determined to keep this a spoiler-free zone, so I'll keep the character assessment to saying that we find out why Trent has a huge chip on his shoulder and genuine difficulty forming lasting relationships, which we've seen manifest in his brash and childish behaviour in Bishop (the first book in this series). He is, however, an amazing person to have in your corner when you need him. Wood, is adjusting to life beyond prison and whether that really means he's served his time or not. He's a great foil for Trent and both men want so much to be worthy of the other.I love this author's writing style. There's a lot around personal growth and redemption woven into the narrative of Wood and Trent's growing relationship. That's not to say that this book is 100%: there are a couple of strands of storyline that weren't quite tied up for me. There are also a small number of errors that should have been picked up in the proofreading. Those really didn't detract from the reading experience, though. That was just like Wood and Trent (and their relationship) perfectly imperfect. Looking forward to more in this series. 4.5* rounded up.

New Beginnings
I am really enjoying this series about excons and how they adjust to starting over again. In this story we have Wood who is 46 and was cell mates with Bishop (book 1 in the series). He is released and after his stay in halfway house is offered a place to rent Bishop’s dad but has to share the trailer with younger twenty something Trent (Bishop’s best friend). The attraction is instant but Trent has always been into women and feels that everyone he loves abandones him. Wood is older and very patient with Trent, giving him time to accept his attraction to men and realise that Wood is here to stay.I enjoyed the flirting, tension and struggles they both went though to get to where they needed to be. Loved how good they were together and can’t wait for Rayne’s story in book 3.

Where is the old magic?
This author used to be autobuy for me but this is now the second book where I feel the magic is gone. You get glimpses of it and there are thoroughly enjoyable parts, but that's the problem, it's only in parts. Also if you ask for the price make sure you deliver, numerous typo errors. Usually I highlight them in kindle, but couldn't be bothered this time. Just shows I am not invested in her books as I used to be.

Good read
I really liked the characters in this book, and it was also good to catch up with characters from the previous book. The storyline was also interesting and I look forward to reading the next one in the series.

Seriously good.
I'm so glad that the characters don't pussy foot around when they know it's a forever relationship. Wood and Trent made it work despite the misunderstanding that wood hates.
