Works as I hoped.
23yr IT professional. I had a uSATA drive from a previous coworker from years ago. They were let go under bad circumstances and I stored the drive for litigation. I found the drive and got this adapter to scan the drive and eventually used it in a star tech drive erasing dock. Worked well.

Attached drive failed within 2 months
The adapter works great, yet the newly refurbished SSD attached to it failed in a couple months. It's an enterprise drive so I'd imagine that this adapter may have had a part in the failure. You get what you pay for I guess...

Voltage regulator heats to the point of smoking
It sort of works but a few times I hooked it up the voltage regulator gets very hot and begins to smoke. I was able to disconnect it before it let out the magic smoke, but I think something isn’t quite right with the device. The voltage regulator looks different than the pictures in the listing.Use with caution.

Used this to replace a small 1.8 inch SSD with a larger non 1.8" SSD.

Garbage
Didn’t work and ruined a 1200 ibm SSD in the process of not working. Utter crap. Would give a negative 5 stars if I could.

Macbook air ssd expansion adapter
This adapter adapted your nvme ssd to Apple MacBook air on board slot. The transfer speed is also very good. Installation is very easy and I've been using it for a while and no problem at all. Recommend this product.

Didn't fit my needs
Did not fit what I needed it to, (my error) can't verify whether or not it worked or how well as I can't use it...Pros: cheap enough that returning it isn't worth the trouble (for me)
